Fred is being interviewed live right now
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
I like Fred, but how can you tell?
I am watching it.
LOL!
Did they webcast this? I was aware of it but didn’t know if I could see it on the internet. Guess I can see it two days late. How did it go?
HA!
I have no sound, I am at work. But the closed caption indicated sound answers to all questions.
Hopefully it will be available at Fox news. Fred08.com will have it "as soon as."
It went GREAT! Fred was wonderful and I’m sure his speech this evening at the New York Republican Club will be great too! Wish it was to be covered but will have to wait for it to be posted on his website later. :)
Fred did well. Cavuto (like all of them) talked over him too much, but Fred’s answers were solid. Mostly talked about economic stuff, but also about how Fred will assert Giuliani isn’t a conservative in his speech tonight in NY. They showed a clip of Romney talking about family and asked Fred if the nomination was going to get ugly. Fred said he didn’t think so..hoped not.
At the end Cavuto asked Fred if he would support another republican candidate if they won the nomination. Fred said he didn’t like to think in terms of losing the nomination at this point but Cavuto pushed the question. (I’d bet no Fox anchor would ask this question of Rudy ) Fred said that if somebody else won the nomination he would support them. (paging Dr. Dobson, paging Dr. James Dobson)
Brilliant, this next is for you. Cavuto then asked if Fred would accept a VP role and Fred left no doubt as to his position on that subject. He is most certainly NOT interested.
Thank you prairiebreeze for the report.
I knew he would not accept VP, but I hate it that people keep pushing all this, first it was who would Fred’s VP be, then would Fred be the VP. Nonsense questions unless you are the person to choose.
Do we have video yet?

They discussed the indolent lymphoma. Fred says it’s a fair topic, repeats that he’s never experienced a sick day in his life from this condition. Also pointed out the 2 other republican candidate’s who have cancer histories, although it was Cavuto that named them personally, while Fred demured on that.

pardon for the second post,,,I had an error message come up, didn’t realize the first one actually did go through.
I did add another little exchange that I remembered in the meantime.
I would take Fred any day, any time over Rooty.
I’ve never heard a presidential candidate say they would accept a vp slot. But many have.
Biden and Huckabee have.
One would have to choose to be decidedly un-Brilliant to mistake the tone of Fred’s voice and demeanor of his answer.
Just saw a link to the video on another thread.:)
I think the VP question is in case no one gets enough votes to win the nomination. Who can you cook a deal with, to combine votes to win. I think they’re thinking Fred could have enough votes to help put someone else over the top on delegate count.
I hope Fred does not do this and I don’t think he will. He is the only one who is talking about some issues that I really care about like Social security for instance. It would be hard to do I know, but I can’t see any reason to believe anyone else would try. I care about the future for the sake of my children.
So any other candidate might be a decent person but I know they aren’t going to do the issues that are important to me [maybe right to life]. And maybe they are started in the right direction for different and wrong reasons. So anyone on the Republican side while they might be okay on some issues and silent on others is just going to amount to the lesser of two evils.
Fred has absolutely no benefit from being VP. He likely could not run in 8 years due to age, or maybe not even in 4. Who knows. So he sits there and cannot do any of the things he wants to do and has to support someone else who is a lesser candidate. That would be they want his help but there is NOTHING they could give him in return. He wants to help this country but that will not get it done unless he were the VP and the president dies, and who wants that to happen? Not me.
Such an ignorant question.
I don’t want to see a VP Thompson. If they don’t want him so be it, but there is no one else I can get enthused about or donate to or support strongly. I might be able to vote for them by taking a tranquilizer.
None of the other candidates have anything they could offer Fred so he could even think about being VP. All the usual reasons do not apply. Fred seems motivated to do something to help the country, but I doubt that any of the others even have a chance to get anything done. It is going to be more of the same old can’t get enough votes to get anything done.
