Not sure who’s doing the pet food pings?
But what will hillary eat!?
Interesting link, thanks, although I think the human products recalls are more important than the pet food recalls.
Heads up....
These three were involved in the last recall with the crap from China.
I am just mad that this is not at all in the news. As a pet owner, I like to be informed if I am killing my animals! I can see all about Britney Spears but I feel like they are trying to downplay how contaminated our kids toys, pet food, and even our own food is from China. I have found that I look at the label on everything. If it is from China, it goes back on the shelf. It is next to impossible to buy anything made anywhere else. (done ranting lol)
I did not see Purina on the list. You did?
I was told that Purina is made 100% in USA.
Ongoing recall means that they want to make sure they get all the original contaminted lots (announced last spring) off the market. It does NOT mean that there are any new contaminated lots.
And why should we hear about pet food when we haven’t heard anything about the contaminated human food, mislabeled pharmaceuticals, and bad blood products at the top of that FDA list?
YOU have to check this list regularly. Local and network news don’t care unless a few people -or many pets- die.
I actually check this list every day for new recalls! I have realized that I am not going to hear about it otherwise.
Is this a list of newly recalled items? I noticed the date of recall listed for the items is in the area of March to April of 2007.
The list at your link might be a recap of the recalls.
Please correct me if I’m wrong.
Who excerpts an FDA warning? Afraid they’ll claim copyright infringement?
Thanks for the list/link.
We buy our dog food by the pallet and have it delivered.
(due to our outing limitations)
Dick Van Pattens Sweet Potato and Fish.
Not cheap but we feed this crew twice daily measured amounts.
They do get treats of left overs that I cook on occassion like stew that I make (single person) that I just can’t eat more than 3 days in a row.
HairoftheDog?
Their is another guy who pings with the “Made in China” red stamp icon....darn never looked at his screen name.
I guess you don't know about the "updated" meaning of the term "Made in the USA".
As long as the final product is assembled in the US, it can be called "Made in the USA".
Foot - I know of a "US" company that imported completely finished office chairs, sent them through a warehouse where workers unpacked the chairs, slapped a new label on them, and repackaged them. The chairs were marketed as "Made in the USA".
I imagine that food products are very similar.
I thought it was new but from other freepers comments, I am guessing it is just ongoing from March STILL? How is this still being recalled? I checked last week and all of these pet foods were not listed (some were)?
I am familiar with the Science Diet products. The savory cuts that are listed from Science Diet were never distributed..the company was going to market these and the products had not been sold to the public. They were recalled from the sales reps (the samples) and the savory cut line was recalled and deleted from the inventory. Hills’ upper management is considering not venturing outside the company for anything anymore...the stakes are too high..The feline M/D was recalled by contacting every veterinarian that had the product. Hill’s even paid every animal owner that had been on M/D for routine laboratory screening to insure the cat’s health. I don’t know of any other company that did this.
