Ann Coulter is Not Helping
American Thinker ^ | October 13, 2007 | Richard Baehr

...The issue with Coulter is not whether she can sell books, but whether she helps or hurts the side of the political debate she claims to support. In my opinion, Coulter has never been a big help to the effort to build a conservative and Republican majority. Her most recent comments on the relationship of Christianity to Judaism, made on the CNBC show " The Big Idea" with Donnie Deutsch on Monday of this week , may prove particularly damaging...

At a time when party affiliation is fraying and a third of Americans consider themselves independent, to build a majority of 50% plus one requires persuasion. Independents will not accept all parts of either party's platform or approach but will choose a candidate for office based on which issues matter to them, and whether one or the other party connects with them on those issues. It is a skill to disagree at times without being disagreeable. Ronald Reagan had it, and it is one of the reasons he became so popular and patched together a large winning coalition . Coulter has clearly decided there is no economic advantage for her in this approach...

Nope,
because I’ve known too may PC’s who were monsters and jerks....and that was before I was 12.

I decided there had to be a more decent way to live life....best decision I ever made.

But anyhow, I have no respect for assholes, no matter what the words are, if the spirit of the law isn’t there, then spouting off the law is worthless.

There is no love in AC’s heart for anyone but Ann.

And how does Thompson do that [without] offending Republican Christians?

Oh, I don't think he can avoid offending the extremists like Dobson. But the rest will be very receptive to a message of respect for folks who don't share one's religion but who are nonetheless good, law abiding Americans.

Don’t worry about Dobson, the elites have already made sure he (and his follower) are gone.

Just making up new doctrine on what it takes to be a Christian?

Er, no. Read the Bible.

God does not want or need to have people like you adding or subtracting from His Scriptures.

He doesn't want anyone to ("Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar. " Proverbs 30:5-6) --but I am adding nothing:

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." John 3:16-21.

"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." John 14:6-7

I can provide more, if you would like

Funny that FREEPERS were on her good list awhile back and and now that she says something that is not in agreement suddenly she sucks

Yeah. I've noticed it myself, a distinct intrusion of thin-skinned panty-waists lately. Probably a "Fall Offensive" from the hermaphrodite left.

Those tenants are the very reason I am not what people like you would consider a "Christian." I, for one, will actually listen to the words of Christ himself and not those of the Apostle Paul who never met the man and saw his supposed words in a "vision."
  1. The Bible is the inerrant, literal Word of God Then why so many versions of the same story, e.g. the Gospel?
  2. All humans are mired in sin before birth Apparently not Noah and Enoch, whom God labeled "blameless" and are from the same bloodline as all supposed sinners
  3. Ergo, all humans deserve nothing less than eternal damnation See previous premise, also note the Biblical Flood as an example of God's salvation pre-Jesus
  4. God, in His grace, provided a sacrifice for this sin in His Son (begotten, not made in the words of Constantine's creed) Jesus Christ who, being perfect in all things, was able to provide the perfect sacrifice No entity on Earth can be perfect in all things as the definition of "perfect" cannot be totally and concretely defined; however, he can be seen as an 'ideal'
  5. This sacrifice is a gift of God, come of grace, not works; no one is ever worthy...ever. See the previous premise
  6. Jesus is 100% man and 100% God No entity anywhere can be 200%
  7. Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, crucified dead and buried, and on the third day he rose again Irrelevant to his teachings, but I'll grant it
  8. Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead. Those who have accepted the free gift of salvation will enter heaven and those who have not will be sentenced to eternal damnation "where there will be fire and gnashing of teeth" This view of salvation discards every moral and teaching that Jesus ever taught to his followers and disciples and renders all morality meaningless

It is now in the MSM and dinner conversation at Jewish households.

Apparently then, there are "Jewish households" with way too much time on their hands. I for one think Jews have more serious things to talk about, like Ahmadinejad's promise to wipe them out. I think you are full of it and I don't believe you.

Look,
4, hell, even two years ago, I was a huge fan of Anns. No one could hold their own in a debate as well as she could. No one could remember and pull stats out of their head like her.

But she got lazy and just threw nasty verbal bombs. Not just at liberals, but folks who pretty much had done nothing more than be liked by someone she was mocking.

I lost all respect for her, and I also saw her become a marginalizing factor..... she doesn’t win ‘converts’ for the cause now adays. Every time she opens her mouth, one more person, poster here, EveryDayJoe on the street says ‘to hell with her’ and loses respect for her and her what she supposedly represents.

Ann has not hurt the GOP, and as far as I know, she has no official position in the GOP. She is simply a citizen voicing her opinion, and I agree with what she expressed. If someone had asked me the same question, I would have stated my belief that all Jews should become Christian. That has been the position of the Christian church for 2000 years. There is no salvation outside of Christ, and there are no exceptions to that dogma. If that offends Jews, so be it. The GOP is not a religious organization, and there is no religious test for membership. If people cannot distinguish between a religious faith and a political ideology, they are misguided.

Did you read the article?

The issue is whether Ann helps or hinders us when we try to win people over.

So you couldn’t find any scriptures that tell us of our responsibility to preach the Gospel? And that to the Jew first?

I don't think he's making the case that she's not doing what a Christian should, I think he's making the case that she's not helping the conservative movement. Christian and conservative are not synonymous.

....."I have never heard the term "perfected Jew" in all my years as a Christian"......

I believe you can find something similar to this in John 17. Jesus says he wants us sanctified, which means "perfected." I haven't yet looked at other translations, but that's the way it is printed in NKJV. When you take Jesus as Saviour, you are said to be "Justified", which means you could die at that moment and go to heaven. After you become justified you are supposed to be "sanctified", which means becoming like Christ. When you die and get your reward, you will be "glorified", which means you will be like Christ in heaven. Being Holy doesn't mean being good, it means being "set apart". We are a Holy people because we belong to God, not because we have done something good. Sanctification is the "race" Paul talked about completing when he ran a good race. Sanctification means you are perfecting yourself like Christ. The more you become like Christ, the more perfect you are. The end result for anyones life should be striving to be Christ like.

What she said was perfectly fine and actually a kind statement. If you love somebody, wouldn't it be more loving to pray for them to stop sinning? This is why Christians pray for women to NOT have abortions and for homosexuals to change their ways. Of course when they find a Christian doesn't accept their life choices, they get angry, just like this guy did. He must believe being non perfected is better. Sinners want to keep sinning and for God to overlook it. Even a saved Christian sins, but the difference is the Christian wants to stop and be more like Christ. A pagan says, "To Hell with all the Christians, If God doesn't like me for who I am, then I'll go to Hell because I want to be with a god that puts up with my crap." It has nothing to do with Christians or Ann. It has everything to do with God and non believers.

As a Christian, once you are "born again", you join God's family. The Bible says you are "grafted" in, or adopted. That means you are a "perfected Jew". Jesus is a Jew. The "chosen people" are Jews. That doesn't mean all Jews are automatically going to heaven. Being "chosen" just means they have the oracles of God given to them. What good is a Buddhist prophet? They are not from the God of the Bible. Jesus was revealed through the Jews, even though they don't accept Him as Messiah.

In short, being perfected is Gods prayer for His people and Ann saying she wished that for the Jews is no slight. If you aren't perfected, you aren't God's people. There are many verses in the Bible that young Christians still on milk have trouble with. On of them is understanding that we are in Heaven( right now in the mind of God), and we are just like Christ. When we were chosen as God's children, we became just like Christ in the heart of God. There is nothing you can do now to be pried from the hand of God. You are perfect in His eyes. We still see the sin and faults, but He doesn't. We are at God's right hand right now, even though we are still here. God doesn't have time. He was, is, and is forever. Another is explaining God as in 3 parts. Try explaining to a non believer that you are monotheistic, but God is The Holy Spirit, The Father, and The Son, and all are One and each one is God. Jesus said to his disciples, "If you've seen me, you've seen the Father." "I and the Father are one". "I must leave, but I will send another."

These are not simple concepts, but must be taken on faith until you are clear on them. It's the same with "perfection". You must look at it from the mind of God. That is the "humbled" part you speak of. We see sin and failure, He see's triumph and success. It's already done. "Finished", as Christ would say. He did it, not us.

"Be therefore perfect, as I am perfect".........God

Which translates to something close to 0.3% (.003) of the electorate. Wow. Very damaging indeed.

That's very likely the deciding vote in Florida.

“I’d suspect the number of leftists, moderates, or independents she’s brought to conservatism is precisely zero.”

Who needs moderates and independents? Or even rinos?

This time around, conservatives are planning on going with only a core group of the “perfected.”

I have an advance idea, of the results, too.

Dinner conversation can be simply “Well, how much are we goingn to donate to the Republican Party this year?”

“Not a dime! Pass the matzos please.”

Pretty nasty and over in 5 seconds.
