He has held a leadership position in Congress. He was chairman of the powerfull House Armed Services Committee.

I think Thompson is very nervous...he needs to stick with generalities for now so he doesn’t faux pas...

I am amazed that Matthews has not been more rabid than usual, like you I think he won’t be able to hold his DBM credentials in for much longer.

As an activist, you see something other than reality. I wish you could stand back and just read all of the petty posts.

But appearance-wise, Thompson looks just as tarnished as Romney looks and talks slick. It shouldn’t matter but it does. Hunter is the one whose presentation I have no problem with.

I wouldn’t go that far:) But he sounds better than I remember him before..
Actually- Mitt’s ok...my distrust of him is basically that I see him as strictly managerial, economy guy. I don’t get a sense that he understands conservative Republicans- and I don’t mean only pro-life. I don’t think he “gets” illegal immigration, for example..

Brownback counters Ron Paul, doesn’t believe we were in Iraq for oil. Terrorism, weapons of mass destruction. Compliments the military. Brownback 3-state proposal reiterated here.

Still, we can’t prevent our favored trading partners from trading with China. In the long run our economy would suffer.

This is the best I’ve seen Hunter, for sure. I actually thought he was flat in every previous debate, but this is the first time I’ve been genuinely impressed with his debate performance.

That also could be a huge factor the msm will race away from Hunter every time.

Brownback managed to confuse himself entirely over Iraq.

FRed's presentation is about 200% better than Bush's in the "Presidential Debates", and Bush, as you might recall, won.
He's the only one with appeal to the masses in the bunch.

Romney will be cool, fit, sober, informed, and on his game against Hillary in debate, it will send her into a tail spin. She will not be able to handle it.
