Smoot Hartley tarrifs were a big part of the deepening of the great depression. One would think the protecionist camp would be more comfortable in the Democrat camp, along with their unions, who want government monopolies on industries and will fold with lower priced overseas competition, which means lower prices for consumers, IMO. Free trade is one of the biggest causes of prosperity.

Fred hasn’t made any major gaffes yet but he hasn’t done anything impressive either. He is saving face, nothing more. He hasn’t shown he can play with the big boys.
Hunter is phenomenal. I am more of an isolationist but I realize that my personal views are not necessarily the best for America. I trust Mitt to take America on a balanced path.
Fred will give away the store.
To: jmyrlefuller
I would really like to see Hunter of maybe Fred at the top.I am scared to death that a Rudy nomination will inspire a third party and then we automatically lose.
Just Heard Fred repeating stuff he has already said, not really a good idea here IMHO.

Fred just said something to the effect that Nasdaq would own 30 % of the Dubai company. I too am a little lost on that one. The agreement isn't a direct purchase agreement. The NASDAQ would pick up a 30% ownership of Dubai International in exchange for a 20% ownership by Dubai International of the NASDAQ.
