I imagine the Frost’s auto insurance limits were too low to cover all the expenses. I checked the Maryland insurance commissioner’s website and Maryland only requires 20/40 bodily injury and uninsured motorist, and $2500 in personal injury protection. That amount wouldn’t cover severe injuries for very long, and I highly doubt the Frosts sprang for more than the minimum. Irresponsible people are generally irresponsible in many areas of their lives, and any way you cut it, a middle class couple with four children who don’t have at least a high-deductible, catastrophic health policy is irresponsible.

Once again, the responsible, mature members of our society who consistently make intelligent, thoughtful choices get to pay for themselves AND for the irresponsible, immature members of society who consistently make stupid, impetuous choices. And yet somehow, the Dems think they’re the party of “fairness.”

I hope this company offers health insurance. The Frosts’ not having health insurance coverage with four children is totally irresponsible.

Thanks for wading through the filth at DU so I don’t have to. What a weak, transparent strawman the “picking on a 12-year-old” is. Nobody’s attacking the 12-year-old. The poor child is a victim of his parents and the Dems. It is they who should be ashamed of using an injured child to further their political agenda.

Y’know, it’s been a while since I lurked on DU and now I remember why. What a bunch of mean-spirited hypocrites.

Consider it done, Doc. You're on your own with the rest. Maybe another enterprising freeper can help out. There's a fairly comprehensive list HERE

Again, good work...

...like another self-employed guy I know, who makes lots of money in his business, but makes everything he can a "business expense", so that his official taxable salary is low...

Well, yeah, but I can't fault the guy for that. Government tax law is so ridiculous that a self-employed person has to gross probaby (my guess, but a decent one) $35 an hour to reap the same as a corporate employee whose gross salary is tabulated at $22 an hour.

That this piece of scum has no more ethics than to take advantage of SCHIFF and then to allow his kid to be used as a shill, is contemptible from a personal.

You'd think a guy who supporting his family and making a nice living doing what he loved in a free market would comprehend the value of honor? Yipes. Sad to say that while I love to think business owners are by nature and inclination honorably conservative, my real-world experience has proven that it's not true. It's more 50-50, shockingly, though I may be wrong -- just anectodal. A woman I admired for her business guts in running a small business, was a liberal. Eventually I observed over time that she payed her employees very meanly, gave raises begrudgingly, failed to deliver on promises of health insurance and retirement (I never asked for them, so don't look at me), and eventually cheated at wage payment enough to get nailed by the Employment Board (yes, you can look at me). Yet this woman was outraged that anyone could be a Republican, against minimum wage -- why Republicans hate the little guy! I never did because I didn't care, but had I asked her to increase my own <$10/hr wage by the same amount as the recent rise in minimum wage, she'd have been astonished that I could even suggest such a thing!

Thanks. I fired it off to Michelle Malkin and Sean Hannity. I’ll start using the list you posted. Nice resource! Again, thanks.

Reminiscent of the left's friend's tactics. You know the ones - the ones who strap the bombs around the the little kid and then send them off in to 'paradise'.

The political Left has been chipping away at our right of free speech for decades. When our right to free speech is gone, what’s left?

So let’s get this straight. All of the taxpayers in America are supposed to chip in to pay for health insurance for kids like this, whose parents pay $20,000 for private schooling? My response is no thanks.

To what extent will the working, productive, responsible people be expected to pay to support the idiots?
