.....the soldiers on the ground “took” something .....

The question is what?

Why not guess the big enchilada? They stole the bomb.

When I first heard that, the first thing that went through my mind was, "I wonder WHO they took with them?" Can you imagine if they grabbed a non-Syrian from the site?

Mark

Netenyahu said we’d be ‘stunned’, so it probably wasn’t a bumper sticker they took.

Wonder if North Korea developed (or stole the research for) something bigger than anyone expected - like an H-bomb large enough to eliminate most of Israel?

This is the first I’ve ever heard of a nuclear weapon actually being used since WWII. I’ve tried googling it, but have found nothing. Have a link to any articles on a nuclear device being used in the Sino-Soviet border conflict or any other time that wasn’t just a test? Thanks a ton!

Not much new in this story, just most of the previous tidbits assembled in one place.

Disturbed one guy’s tea and crumpets, if his excitability is any indication.

Still no speculation about the drop tanks Turkey found so instantaneausly.

If IAF had to work rugged, remote terrain on the way in, and Turkey had eyes on them, that would explain the Turks grabbing them the same day.

But if Turkey tracked them, they aren’t talking either. In fact, you have to ask why Turkey didn’t fire on them.

Then later on, IDF supposedly got in there to collect samples and BDA. If true, they didn’t walk, in or out. The “Welcome” and “Come back Soon” mats weren’t out either. Newswise, that’s been a completely black operation.

The upper limit on the contents of the NK cement ship has been “everything the Koreans didn’t want anymore” since news of the ship was first reported.

Similarly, the lower limit had to be above whatever Syria has had for years, which includes all of NBC except the N.

Could have been rusty parts and old drawings, spent core rods, assembled test devices, or just some old measurement instruments.

So what if our slightly hysterical British chap isn’t over-reacting?

Well, to me, “WW-III” implies world power involvement. Can’t have a big one without one of the big three. I guess US/UK vs Iran would cover world power, at the lesser world war end of the spectrum. More small fish would help qualify.

But US versus Syria?

That would have to be WW-IV, because OIF was WW-III.

Other end of the scale, did Russia or China make a move, or at least rattle a saber? What would the Brits know about that?

And how’s our Brit friend know what we were up to anyway?

Did we call ahead for refueling reservations?

UK spies on Diego reporting our movements?

Crosstalk at Centcom Forward in Qatar?

Savoy Pub?

Green Zone O-Club?

If there were US aircraft at the Iraq Syria border, did they include Jstars? UAVs?

Just how deep were we in this, anyway, and why?

For that matter, if we were deep in this, it would be as part of a longer term campaign to provoke a response. If that’s the background, then either Syria or Iran had to act aggressively, scramble some fighters, or something, to brink us to the brink of “WW-III”.

Otherwise, it’s normal background radiation, not a spike in tensions.

If that’s not enough questions, here’s one more.

Who’s more likely to spot a shipment of suspicious cement leaving North Korea, Israel’s lone satellite, or NSA’s globular cluster?

There’s a lot more here than meets the eye.

North Korea couldn’t send more than they had.

One Brit, and Netayahu’s aide claim WW-III type stunnage.

Maybe NK really is getting out of the nuke business.

Maybe they choose not to...dispose of the remains...locally. The US has a lot of experience with nuclear waste. If we let it go to Syria without stopping it, then we knew it wasn’t going to last loong there, which means we wanted NK to have the cash for it. Any bets on a refund?

The good news remains that the Axis of Evil refused the gambit. They aren’t ready yet. If they were ready, they’d have done everything they threatened to do if we destroy a nuke facility, which we did, but they haven’t. Every day they’re not ready, the day they’ll never be ready comes one day closer.

As I’m still at work, not at the moment - but you might want to read some of the other posts on this thread. I’m not the only one here who’s heard of it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some rogue Hezzbo types were about to toss a biological/chemical tipped SCUD at Israel from Syrian soil and that’s what was taken out.

An old friend of mine worked on a system that is probably outdated now, but it’s still impressive to me. 3 planes with data links to a ground command center would fly very high in a triangular formation several miles apart. If a radar signal came on, even for a split second, all 3 planes received it, and with their GPS and timing data they triangulated the source. Almost instantly, the location was uploaded to a fighter and from the fighter into a fire-and-forget missile. And that split second of radar emissions would soon become a missile magnet, even if they didn’t turn it on again.

"Khan established a virtual supermarket of nuclear technologies, parts and plans which operated for more than a decade on a global stage."

Nice to know that our CIA is doing it's job.

Unbelievable that with the BILLIONS of tax dollars spent on this federal entity they were still unable to take out this Khan Clown. Add the fact that they were clueless about 9/11 and I'm of the conclusion that we are not getting our money's worth from the agency.

I'm wondering if Syria, Iran & Co weren't planning a MAJOR attack with the intent of wiping Israel off the map, including at least one nuke.

I agree....this is the stunner Bibi's aide spoke of...

We are back to looking at a riddle inside a mystery.

Not too long after 9/6 Israel told Syria 'use wmds and we wipe YOU off map.'

How possibly could Syria believe they'd get away with wiping out Israel? They can't be that deluded...?

My guess is their delusional hatred has affected their reason. That’s the difference between say us, for example, and others. I’d like to think that we here would only pick up a gun and start shooting if we were attacked (which we were), or we were in danger of invasion (then, heaven help the invaders, because every American would be packing heat, I feel certain). We scrap and kick and claw among ourselves, but let some jackass think we’re soft, and I’m pretty sure you’ll see our true colors.

If we can live as we want with all the freedoms we have and the luxuries we have (like clean water, electricity, gas for heating, a way to drive our cars and keep earning a living), then we pretty much will leave the rest of the world alone — we’re tolerant, and we’ll live and let live. Try to take away what we’ve accomplished or force us to live under a hard line mullah, no. Not so much.

We, Americans, aren’t driven by hatred (except from time to time each other). We’re a big tent and can work out our problems under the law. The rest of the Hottentots seem to have trouble with that concept.
