Then he’ll lose.

It was STUPID of Thompson, even if you don’t agree with Dobson. He’s already “iffy” to a significant part of his base, not convinced that he’s “with” them — a part that’s been tricked and screwed often before.

Only thing that it would have cost him to say, “Sure, I’d be happy to talk to James Dobson. He’s done wonderful work for America’s families, and I’m sure we’d find that we share the same core values” — I say, the only thing it would cost him is his PRIDE.

Do you want Dole Campaign II?

That’s what I’m starting to see. No fire in the belly = no White House.

Please, at least think about it.

No fire in the belly? Because he won't lick Dobson's boots?

After thinking about it, I've realized that I've yet to meet a Christian who bases his vote on what James Dobson has to say. Dobson was way off base, and Fred Thompson was right to dismiss his comments for what they were.

Piffle. I, for one, want a President with a spine, not a strand of boiled linguini. Standing up to one blowhard who thinks he speaks for God (Dobson) is good practice for standing up to another blowhard who thinks he speaks for God (Imanutjob or whatever that Iranian guy’s name is).
