A Texas high school sophomore's parents might sue after the school booted the student from campus for wearing a John Edwards for 2008 president T-shirt.
Pete Palmer, a sophomore at Waxahachie High School, says he didnt think he was doing anything wrong wearing the political shirt to school.
But according to the Waxahachie Independent School District dress code, students can't wear shirts with political slogans.
T-shirts, other than WISD clubs, organizations, sports, or spirit t-shirts, college or university t-shirts or solid-colored t-shirts, are prohibited," according to the policy.

He could have worn a silk skirt to school instead - not explicitly political, but it sends precisely the same message.

Or gone to Dallas and had his hair done for $400. Or marched in a gay pride parade, vistited s public bathhouse, tapped his feet at the DFW airport restroom or started a GLBT club at school. All essentially the same....

More daddy lawyers dumbing down America. This little cup cake would have been yelling had someone wore a “I support President Bush” shirt. Rules are rules and he knew the rules before wearing the shirt and I guarantee the school gave him options.

I bet he gets beat up a lot in Waxahachie. I use to own a house there and my next door neighbors would have had some fun with this muffin boy.

It’s just wrong to boot a kid from school just because he’s a dumb ass.

More precisely, becaus eof the shirt he was wearing, it became obvious to administrators in a TEXAS school that the results of the tests he took were suspect, because how could someone so dumb pass any tests....therefore he must have cheated on his exams... Most schools take a dim view of cheating....

It would be wrong but what the article fails to mention is that he was given an opportunity to change his shirt and in every school the nurse keeps plain t-shirts.

A pure case of overkill. If the kid is dumb enough to support Edwards he’ll probably flunk out.
