Saudi: Recognition, but after peace (and full withdrawal), not before ~~ Israel
Israel Insider ^ | September 30th, 2007 | Israel Insider staff

Despite Saudi calls to halt the construction of the security fence, senior diplomatic sources said that Israel will not cease building just to encourage Saudi Arabia's participation in the upcoming peace summit, the Jerusalem Post reported.

Until recently, Israel had rejected the terms upon which Saudi Arabia said its attendance was contingent. The Sunni-led nation is demanding a complete withdrawal from the Golan Heights, Gaza and Judea and Samaria, among other things.

However Israel views the Saudis' participation in the conference as essential to its success.

"Israel has its own security needs that we have to address," an official said. But the official said that Prince Saud al-Faisal's comments, which included more positive remarks about the Mideast meeting, were "interesting," adding that Israel always took into consideration what the Saudis have to say.

However the Saudis are demanding that Israel make territorial concessions first, and only afterwards will it gain recognition of its existence.

The Saudi royal family exists only because the west wants the oil in Saudi Arabia. The minute the US withdraws support for them they will be overthrown by the creatures they have created with their religion.

Isn’t it about time that we become oil based energy independent? Let’s start a 10 year program to really become energy independent - let’s build enough nuclear power plants to replace all of the oil/natural gas power plants and provide electricity for enough electric cars and trucks to stop the need for imported oil.

Peace will come quickly to the Middle-east with no oil money coming in to finance the governments of Iran and Saudi Arabia.

That the Sauds even considered recognizing Israel’s right to exist goes to show that recent events have changed the landscape of Middle-Eastern politics.

Terms of S.Arabia recognition are just another of the tired theme of “land for promises”.

Aside from criticizing Israel and exporting the terrorist strain of Islam, what has S.Arabia done for the Muslems in the refugee camps.

S.Arabia is awash in unused land. Let it create a homeland for the Pali’s and the world can then sit back and watch the Pali’s make the desert blossom, just as the Jews did to the wasteland that was pre-Jew return Israel.

Oh, I see no need for Israel to surrender any more land.

Just find it notable that the Sauds cracked a bit from their multi-decade death to Israel rant.

I wish just one world leader would ask these Islamic countries just why Israel ended up with the land. Would it be that it was a failed attempt on the part of the Muslim world to “push Israel into the sea.”?

The libs at work pull this... They claim that if only Israel would return to the pre-1967 borders. When I ask them what happened in 1967 they go glassy eyed. It is very convenient for them to forget that moment in history.

Arabs lived side by side in peace with Jews for more than 5,000 years. Arabs have been at war with Persians for longer than against Jews.

Jew-hating is a relatively new phenomenon compared to the above. It is a fad. Given enough Millenia, it too will pass.
