That’s good to know. I rarely watch network TV, so this will be a first for me to see this show.

I agree about the cameos idea! He’s be much more likely to do those than a regular TV show. He hates TV because it’s so time consuming to put a show together. Radio is his forte.

Family Guy is a good show.
Just seems like a Simpsons wannabe to me.

Lighten up, Francis. It's funny.
It used to be funny in the earlier seasons. Now it seems like every episode is nothing but juvenile sex jokes and making fun of Christians and of God.
I'll watch the early episodes, but you can keep the new ones.

Ya know, if you've never seen it before, you might want to keep in mind it's satire. Think onion, scrappleface.

Family Guy is quite crude, but was never meant for the younger audience in the first place. I remember asking permission to stay up and watch Bob Newhart in the same time slot I believe. (I had a secret crush on Susan Pleshette)

“Just seems like a Simpsons wannabe to me.”
Far less preachy and much more funny. Subtlety mixed with edge. I haven’t gotten a laugh out of the Simpsons in a few years.
Evidently the creators of Family Guy are near my age because the show constantly references things from my childhood. I mean, on what other show does a character audition for a play by singing the theme to “Land of the Lost” or picks the theme of the parade to be “Tony sees Angela naked in the shower”, ala “Who’s the Boss”?
It’s nuttier than the Simpsons and far wittier.

I don’t like crude and raunchy, but a little subtle off-color stuff _can be_ funny.

Since this is the Star Wars episode, I would imagine Rush would play Vader.I figured Stewie would be Vader....

It’s not bad for a show that is written by manatees.

"Now theres a show all about conservative ideals and family values."
Well, let's see, there's marital fidelity, the kids don't do drugs, the dad has a steady job... yup, it's one of those dag-nabbed Satan-worshipping librul shows, for sure!
Seriously... it's often off-color and crude, but sometimes cataclysmically funny. The flashback to the two main characters' hippy-dippy folk-music tribute to Native Americans still has me in stitches, as does the slam on Kim Cattrall's past-her-sell-by-date sexual profligacy and several other celebrity send-ups. It's full of seditious and occasionally hilarious satire, usually at Hollywood's success. Lighten up.

How can you watch that crap? It rots your brain. Oh, never mind, too late.
