What? 1,301?
What planet was I on?
Missed it by thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat much.
An old Undead Thread Tradition.
Lyrics can be found on-line, if not in the fold-outs that come in the CD cases.
We’ve so far been successful, in our house, at keeping our kids from developing such afflictions as “the iPod nod.” That’s the one where the kid see your lips moving and gives you a casual bob of the head indicating, “Your desire to give input has been noted. Fill me in later.”
We used to hit milestones more often :-).
I guess it’s good that more people have lives, though. At least we’re still here, for when the Undead Thread is really needed.
Anoreth has taken to wearing headphones around the house during the day, claiming she can’t do schoolwork without it because her brothers are so noisy. (There’s something to that, actually ... I know I can’t do any meaningful reading, writing, or ‘rithmetic unless the 5-3-1 are in bed.) We don’t have iPods, so she has to carry her portable CD player around :-).
I’m on the verge of asking my husband to veto the concept, though, just because it’s so rude.
It’s even more rude in the car.
Depends on what else is going on. When you’ve got 10 people in the car, having one on Planet Zongo with headphones is okay.
When Anoreth went to D.C. with my mom last fall, Mom suggested she bring the CD player, so that Mom could listen to financial news and Anoreth could listen to Whatever.
I like to have conversations in the car, but there’s a place for the passenger(s) to space out and not need attention, especially in rough traffic.
I have my one Yahoo! LAUNCHcast set up for just Christian music, but I can't get into any of the "Christian metal" stuff; Skillet & whatever all else. If I can't worship to it, or praise to it, I just can't get into it, anymore.
I've become a REAL fan of Fernando Ortega, though. If you get a chance, check out his "Storm" CD, or his "Hymns of Worship" CD.
HERE is his stuff as it's listed over at Christianbook.com.
I haven’t listened to my Launchcast in a while, I don’t even have any preferences set on it or anything.
Thanks, I’ll have a look. I’ll especially like it if it’s in Spanish!
My rule on headphones is that if I can hear it, it’s too loud. Hearing damage was showing up back when I was in junior high school, and I take it seriously.
I went through the “Genres” list and rated everything “Never Play” except the Christian prais & worship, contemporary Christian, and one or two other similar genres; maybe Christian Alternative, or some such. I don’t recall exactly, and I’m not looking at the list, right now.
Even with the selections thus limited, every once in awhile it’ll still play something that doesn’t fit my genres, proffereing the “Reason played” as “Recommended by Yahoo!”. Oh well, it’s free, so I guess I can’t complain.
I should set mine up...my main rule with music is it it’s on MTV or Clearchannel radio, I almost certainly won’t like it. Of course, that would take off about half of the playlist.
If he has any Spanish language recordings, I’ve not heard them. His style is more nearly like that of Michael Card.
I can’t imagine that Christian alternative would be any good, since regular “alternative” is such sludge.
It can be spotty, but the genre definitions are sort of nebulous, so I included “alt” just so as not to miss sny that I actually like.
Michael Crowder Band, Passion Worship Band, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, ... these guys do a pretty broad variety of stuff ranging from worship to straight-up rockin’, so a particular song might get called “alternative”, but the overall genre of the band would be hard to pin down; if forced, you’d just have to flip a coin.
I guess it’s subjective, or up to the listener then, just as long as it’s better than mainstream “music.”
hack hack....cough cough...wheeeezzzzzzzzzz....
*wipes ash off the monitor*
smoky flaming windy drive by....
Hi! Bye!
You’re still with us, rottie-boy?
Great news!
Don't get singed.
Morning, DC!
