not exactly sure what to make of the big TY, but tks, LOL
Also, re your next post re MOH.......I’ve met Sammy Davis many times at various get-togethers and his attitude is the same as Donolons. Sort of like having one makes one responsible to the many unsung heroes. I knew a couple of (also) very ordinary guys who surely should have gotten one for a few minutes or an instant of unplanned madness and loyalty in the dark.
sorry to say it, but I contrast these men with kerry, who after a cowardly full-throttle run downstream from what was probably the only enemy action he ever saw, was successful in weaseling himself into a SSV. How can this creature look into the mirror every morning?
I understand. I am not personally eligible for the CAB (instead I have been awarded the CMB). However, when we were deployed several of the soldiers attached to our squadron were denied their CAB in cases that were never adequately explained (for instance two of the guys in a HWMMV that was hit by an IED got it while the other two did not). It makes me raise an eyebrow to see a General officer wearing it.
Um...if a retired Army doofus like me is authorized to wear quite a few of those very same medals, those Kos Kids need to investigate me, LOL! Bring it on! :)
My take? They’re all a bunch of military-bashing “PX Heroes” who don’t appreciate what men like General Petraeus really mean to this country. (I don’t know him personally, though my best friend is a retired Major and she taught with him at military academies in the past. She thinks the sun rises and sets on him and that’s good enough for me.)
Sadly, none of the Kos Kids are intelligent enough to read even the SIMPLEST of military regulations. In their defense, military regulations are usually quite thick. They DO have a lot of numbers and big words in them. And no pictures. *SMIRK*
I love this vision of earned medals! LOL
Oops.
Ya beat me to it!
So that’s the chief Kossucker, eh?
Some of us sent our Good Conduct Medals BACK to our Congressman upon Jimmuh Kkkatuh’s draftdodger pardon.
That way the short-time NGs and Reservists would get a medal too.
Accidental encounters with non-enemy forces outside of a warzone don't count no matter what happens.
"NO Good Conduct Medal for YOU!"
Don't ask, don't tell.
Since the Daily Kooks hate the military, why should anyone listen to anything they have to say?
Pray for W and Our Troops
Guy was in the Infantry and that’s good enough for me. All those other guys need medals ~ Infantrymen really don’t need ‘em.
fwiw, i'm a holder of the EIB (but NOT the CIB- MPs aren't eligible for the CIB.) & doing that series of tests was the hardest thing i ever did in the army!!!
as for "HANOI-john", he (imVho) is to quote another "old soldier", "un homme sans honneur".

Right, for the regulations ~ officers are hired on to read those things. On the other hand, for highly important work, e.g. tracked vehicle maintenance, the Army issues comic books!
thought you might get a kick out of Joe's comment about being recruited to MM's.
also, his (rueful comment), "old soldiers never die. they only smell that way."
