Tonight at Daily Kos, the new mainstream voice of the Democratic Party, theyve found a new angle from which to attack General Petraeus: Hey, MoveOn! Petraeus Wore Fraud Medal At Testimony.
Examining General Petraeuss medals, his official bios and then comparing three reports of events on 3/30/2003 in Najaf, Iraq - two by prize-winning embedded journalists and one understood to be by Army personnel (which document this diarist will produce to a responsible party at any time) - this diarist cannot conclude other than that General David Petraeus wore a medal for combat valor in his testimony before Congress that was a sham, propaganda and a dishonor to his troops and nation.
I will be extremely surprised if there is anything to these charges, but its not my area of expertise, so LGF military lizardsplease weigh in.
Hillaryous!
Under President Bill C, anything and everything was possible. It was said Boorda used his son in laws pistola.
Lots of fallen bodies during the Clinton years.
What are you 12? ROTFLMAO!
Just, . . . wow. Most soldiers would be honored (and fortunate) to have just one of those.
Even if they are claiming you have to be under direct fire, read Rick Atkinson’s book, “In the Company of Soldiers,” and he relates an incident he witnessed in which Petraeus and some of his staff stopped a Humvee, spread out maps, and were looking at positions when they came under (as I recall) mortar fire. They did not take cover. After a minute, Patton-style, Petraeus pulled out his sidearm and went in the direction of the incoming. By that time, other soldiers had eliminated the threat.
Is it possible to imagine that in a 30 year career he might have just picked up the medal as a junior officer?
Of course 4 star generals usually wear medals that they never earned, especially when they are testifying to Congress and the world is watching.
What the heck do 4 star generals know about medals anyway?
We should all thank our lucky stars that there is Daily Kos to advise us on such matters.
You get an Article 15 or above and you get NO Good Conduct Medal - - all else qualify - - it’s for “good conduct.”

“* Army Achievement Medal”
Found it. Bush’s failure in Iraq could not produce and achievement medal. Therefore it has to be bogus. /sarcasm
I just sent the Kos article to mnfi.webmaster “at” iraq.centcom.mil with the following explanation. Ah, for the good old days (early 19th century)—an officer and gentleman like General Petraeus could have simply demanded satisfaction (pistols for two and breakfast for one) from Eli Pariser and this Kossack. Of course, scum like Pariser (”Eli Parasite” is his new name) wouldn’t dare face any gentleman with so much as Super Soakers or Nerf bats.
Come to think of it, the New York Times (which ran MoveOn’s defamatory ad) has pretty deep pockets as well...
I thought this should be brought to General Petraeus’ attention. The Daily Kos is operated under “editorial control” (i.e. the site’s owners can and do delete content and ban users for posting particularly egregious content) so Kos could probably be held accountable for it. I am not a lawyer and I cannot provide legal advice, but this looks like libel (written defamation).
MoveOn.org’s advertisement was meanwhile not only inexcusable but incompetent. The ad itself said openly that MoveOn did not even wait to hear what General Petraeus had to say before it accused him of lying. This, as well as plenty of other things I have researched, says plenty about that organization’s character and integrity.

I can’t get past the “new voice of the mainstream Demcorats’ in the first line without laughing. Talk about an oxymoron (Empasis on moron):-)
Try again? ExpeRtiSe.
The "V" is really called the "combat distinguishing device," which indicates on certain awards that can be earned either during combat operations or non-combat activities, e.g., the Bronze Star, Commendation Medal or Achievement Medal, that is was related to combat operations. The award states specifically whether the combat distinguishing device can be worn or not. I suspect that Patraeus won his Bronze star with a "V" during the Gulf War. The Daily Kos doesn't know what it is talking about. They are trying to make Patraeus into Boorda who was wearing the "V" device improperly, i.e., it wasn't authorized.
John Kerry had three PHs, all of them questionable, especially the first one, and none requiring any hospitalization. By virtue of having three PHs, Kerry was able to curtail his one year tour in Vietnam to just 4 1/2 months in-country using an obscure rule.
P.S. Kerry had a personalized MA license plate "PH3" on his car. He liked to advertise his "hero" status.
Wow, you have a lot of hatred towards a dead man. And the living too, apparently.
