Rudy Giuliani gets the 2nd Amendment completely wrong in NRA speech [saved by a phone call]

Right before Giuliani took his "impromptu" call during the NRA speech, he was discussing the second amendment. However, when discussing the second amendment's language, he mistakenly began to paraphrase the fourth amendment instead! Then he answered the phone and changed the subject. Here's the transcript, followed by the video:
"After all the second amendment is a freedom every bit as important as the other freedoms in the first ten amendments. Just think of the language of it -- 'the people shall be secure' --let's see, this is my wife calling..."
(talks to and about his wife)
(then he resumes with a subject change) "...but the parking decision offers an excellent example..."

Giuliani forgetting the second amendment in his big NRA speech is a giant SNAFU. In the media attention over the call itself, let's see if this part of the story gets any mention.

Is it possible that the call was a heads up from a staffer that he had just stepped in it?
Some of us have discussed whether these "wifey calls" are in fact calls from campaign advisers. If we could assemble some footage of these calls he's supposedly gotten from his wife during other speeches, we could look for gestures or phrases to indicate he is signaling his staff to call him.

Repeat from other thread:
Yeah but it's a brilliant repeat.
Anyone find out where Judi was during this speech? Maybe some way to prove she wasn't on the other end of the phone? Man, that would be terrific to catch him in a sham like that.

I sent it to the NY Post and the Daily News — my fingers are crossed that this doesn’t fall through the cracks.

Sheesh!
Also, on the second half of the video, when he tells "his wife" to say hello, he sticks the phone's microphone up to the other microphones.
What a doofus.

That’s the key, I think. If this gaffe gets reported, it may hurt him. But if it turns out that he can’t even get through a speech without his handlers holding his hand, and calling him to give him instructions, I think he would be finished. You can’t run on leadership and national security if you can’t even give a speech without having Cyrano de Bergerac on the phone telling you what to say.

If we could assemble some footage of these calls he's supposedly gotten from his wife during other speeches, we could look for gestures or phrases to indicate he is signaling his staff to call him. Watching the clip a couple of times, I notice that there isn't the slightest pause of surprise or annoyance that his 'phone rings. Watch people when their cell 'phones ring when they're busy doing something. There's always this kind of 'what the **** is this now?' pause.
He was pretty clearly expecting the call. Even if it really is his wife calling, it's gimmicky and phony. It is, in all likelihood, a campaign adviser issuing an emergency course correction.

Duncan Hunter has already made his case....
1. Please state, in your own words, what the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States means to you. Do you understand the right to keep and bear arms to be an individual or a collective right?
The right to keep and bear arms is an absolute right of Americans to protect their families and their communities and their nation with firearms. In this age of post-911, Americans, I believe are comforted by the fact that our ability to resist terrorism is not limited to law enforcement or defense agencies but is also within the ability of all gun-owning Americans.

That’s probably not far from how the call actually went. Rudy hasn’t even bothered the read the second amendment. What a fraud.

If it wasn't an aid telling him his ruse ("fooling those 'dumb redneck rubes' in 'flyover country' into thinking I am actually conservative, and all that other stuff they heard was just a big misunderstanding...look, NINE-ELEVEN - vote for me or the terrists win!!") was about to fail in a fashion most cataclysmic, then it was probably his wife telling him to stop borrowing her underwear.

Anyone find out where Judi was during this speech? She supposedly was at an airport in Washington D.C. having arrived from London, awaiting a plane to New York. I don't remember where I read it, but it was published yesterday.

“If we could assemble some footage of these calls he’s supposedly gotten from his wife during other speeches, we could look “
OR...We could call him out for being the lying POS we all know he is and challenge him to produce phone records if it was his wife.
I’ll betcha that would make the little puke break out in a cold sweat!
