Well, if memory serves me, it was a couple of mastiffs that killed the woman in the Knoller case.
Do you think that mastiffs should be banned?
I think an argument could be made, though it seems like a slam dunk in the case of the pit bulls, not so in the case of mastiffs.
Really? Just for my own curiosity, what dogs (breeds or types) do you think need to be banned?
I have not yet heard of a beagle attack.
If you’re against this, then let me ask YOU a few questions. Most places ban wolf hybrids. Are you opposed to that?
Where do you draw the line? Isn’t the issue HOW dangerous are they? When you have repeated incidents of pit bulls killing people for no apparent reason, doesn’t that raise the issue of whether they might be too dangerous to allow people to keep?
If you don’t have any problem with people keeping wolf hybrids, then what about tigers? There are plenty of people who would keep both, if it weren’t illegal.
I thought I asked a pretty simple question. Why get defensive?
Play with fire and you will get burned
I’m not defensive. I answered your question. You haven’t answered mine.
This was my question, and no, you haven't even remotely answered it. You sidestepped my question by asking a question. Yes, you are being defensive. Why? You certainly seem to have an opinion. Are you unable to answer my question?
Pit bulls running in a pack are very bad news..
> The destruction of any life, including those of an animal should be humane and swift.
Naturally, I agree with you. I don’t have alot of time for pit bulls, and I have even less time for their advocates and owners.
(And on other threads I’ve already established that the animals that many people call “pit bulls” aren’t. The ones I’m talking about are mungrel mutts of unknown lineage bred to fight: every undesirable trait that a dog can have has been preserved in their bloodline. If that describes someone’s pet, then I have no time for them. If that does not describe their pet, then we’re not talking about the same dog.)
The problem with destroying Pit Bulls humanely is getting close enough to them to give them the needle: most the ones I’ve seen are far, far too vicious. A shotgun might be a better selection. If there’s more than one, a flamethrower would be wiser.
So no, I don’t really advocate poisoning Pit Bulls, particularly if there are better ways of eliminating these breeding mistakes from the canine gene pool. But it’s rather like as if a group of subhumans were to begin breeding and keeping King Cobras and letting them run loose. How do you safely get rid of such a dangerous pet?
No one would know the 5 W’s.
Like a jihadi, the only good Pit Bull is a dead Pit Bull.
Yeah, because dalmatians kill just as many people as pit bulls.
Agreed. Or make everyone who owns one post a huge bond. Like $30K.
You got sumthin again country folk?
