I prefer to think of the pill as reducing the risk of abortion.

“Taking the Pill reduces the risks of a woman getting cancer later in life, according to one of the largest studies ever undertaken.”
For some reason I don’t believe a word of this.

Every other study that has been done for the past 30 years has shown the pill to increase the risk of several types of cancer in women. Next they’ll be refuting the facts that abortions increase the risk of cancer also

So are you coming out in favor of humans only having sex twice in their lives, or for rampant procreation?

From the article-
The study found that overall cancer risk was up to 12 per cent lower for women who took the Pill for less than eight years. But, for the minority of women who took it for more than eight years, the news was less good: for them, the risk of cancer increased by 22 per cent.
So, 8 years is the cut-off point.

I suppose it certainly cuts the risk of having a dried film of DNA on your back :-)

Study either makes no sense or is misleadingly reported. Short term pill use reduced cancer risk 12% later in life. BUT:
Using the pill 8 years or more INCREASED cancer risk twice as much - 22%.
Seems logical to me that 8 years is not a magic cut off point. So if you used the pill 5 years, is your risk up or down? This article says down, I wouldn't bet on it.

On it’s face, I’m afraid I don’t find this credible. It sounds like politicized science to me. I wouldn’t trust the report until it has been thoroughly analyzed by people I can trust.

The ‘Pill’ is the perhaps the worst blight to hit mankind in the 20th century.
To: cripplecreek
That isn't how the pill works. The pill forces menstruation even if there is a fertilized egg implanted in the uterine wall.

The headline is a lie. In some instances it lowered risk, after continued use it increased risks.

You can prefer to think that the moon is made of cheese but that doesn’t change the fact that the pill is an abortifacient.

**Taking the Pill cuts the risk of cancer**
I don’t think so.
