Isn’t this the state that has the slogan something like “Live free or die”, or am I all wet?

Nationally Ron Paul is polling at 1% now according to Gallup. Considering New Hampshire is hardly a conservative state, I for one am surprised he is polling so low there. I would think he would draw 20+% there. If he is polling only 5% in New Hampshire, that is pretty pathetic.

It figures, given the large amount of Massachusetts liberals who have immigrated into NH lately.

Breakin News - Ron Paul is polling 1% nationally according to Gallup, down from his high of 3% in their last poll. Now that is a surge!

5% in New Hampshire?

With its libertarian leanings, I’d figure Rep. Paul would be doing somewhat better, but then again, this is just the GOP they’re asking, so this sounds about right.

He’s also polling SIXTH among Republican candidates ... behind Romney, Giuliani, McCain, Thompson, and Huckabee.

- McCain is pretty much dead in the water ... and has 12%.
- Thompson has been in the race a WEEK ... and has 11%.
- Huckabee is as unlikely to win as I am ... and has 6%.

You’ll forgive me if I’m not overly impressed with Ron Paul’s 5%, and 6th Place standing.

H

Wasn’t New Hampshire the state where the libertarians were supposed to move to and take over?

Does that 5% have the same +/- 3% error rate as most polls?

Putting things in perspective...

1) There is no previous LA Times/Bloomberg poll for New Hampshire, so no trends can be noted.

2) "New Hampshire: 1,312 registered (+/-3), 618 Democratic primary voters (+/-4), and 412 Republican primary voters (+/-5)" -- yes, you're reading that correctly, the margin of error at a 95% confidence level is +/-5. That's practically worthless.

In short, this poll really tells us nothing. A series of follow-up polls showing trends may help, though the high MOE would make them suspect unless the trends were very strong.

Propagandists of the world unite. Imagine someone putting America before world interests. This idea must be destroyed before other candidates mount this wagon.

Just think someone is even suggesting that the USA should have a non-interventionist, constitutional foreign policy, a strong national defense and stay out of other countries' internal affairs and nation building.

Sounds like Paul doesn't want the USA to follow England's descent from 'the Sun never sets on the British Empire' to 'God save the Queen'. An increasing number of Americans will agree. Other candidates please note.
