WASHINGTON - Hillary Clinton's campaign couldn't explain yesterday why it blew off warnings about felon-turned-fund-raiser Norman Hsu - and the Daily News learned FBI agents are collecting e-mail evidence in the widening scandal.

Clinton was forced Monday to give back a whopping $850,000 raised by convicted scam artist Hsu after learning his investment ventures were being probed by the FBI as a potential Ponzi scheme.

She earlier gave to charity $23,000 Hsu donated himself after reports revealed he fled sentencing for a $1 million scam in California in 1992.

Yesterday, the campaign insisted it did all it should to vet Hsu after California businessman Jack Cassidy warned in June that Hsu's investment operation was fishy. Cassidy e-mailed his tips to the California Democratic Party, which forwarded them to the Clinton campaign.

Well, I suspect the money has already been spent by the Clintons.

Their current position on returning the money is to “give it to charity”. If you believe this, you’ll also believe Bill “never has sex with that woman”.

The American public should see this money put into an escrow account immediately and like any other illegal activity formal charges need to be made and the prosecution initiated.

Why is the (now former) head of their entire western regional finance, Samantha Wolf, no longer with the campaign?? When did she depart (she was there in June, apparently), how and why, was she fired or did she simply realize she had to try to quietly disappear on her own?

Why did the Clintonistas think they could ignore obvious warning signs from months ago that all was not right in the land of Hsu? Presumably because they have gotten away with so much for so long, plus the pressure of trying to keep up with Obama’s record fundraising, they may have gotten desperate and sloppy???

Exactly. So far they are hoping to get away with stonewalling everything that is not already out there from other sources. They WON'T explain why they ignored blatant warnings about Hsu, they WON'T explain how he became connected with the campaign and who his main contact was and how they handled him, etc., they WON'T explain what happened to Samantha Wolf (former director of finance for their entire western region), they WON'T explain anything at all unless we can get the MSM to ram this scandal down their lying throats 24/7. They should not be allowed to get their message out about anything else, they should just be forced to address this MONEY LAUNDERING AND FINANCIAL FRAUD scheme that has pumped at least close to $1 million into their campaign coffers (probably a lot more) and lots of $$$ to other Demagogues such as Obama, Spitzer, Cuomo, et al. btw, I have yet to see CHuckie Schumer and the national senate campaign committee mentioned in any of this!?! Is it possible that Hsu was funnelling big bucks to Hillary, Spitzer, and Cuomo yet ignoring both Schumer's own campaign and PAC committees and also the national senate committee?? I very much doubt it! We have to find out whether Schumer is trying to hide with a big pile of Hsu funds while trying to decide what to do about the scandal.....

We need to make sure that the name Hsu is as popular as the name Abramoff, and that the terms Hsu, Friend, Democrat, crook are associated as much as possible.

abramoff more than anybody destroyed our party (he had a lot of help from willing republican politicians who loved power and women more than doing what is right). We need to make 2008 into the other half of the washington cleanup.

Best guess now is that Rosenman is part of the Clintonista cover story, providing added layers of complexity, lawyers, and attempted separation between sources of Hsu’s money and the Clintonistas!! We’ve got to get the FBI and the MSM to penetrate Rosenman’s cover story and sham “investments” with Hsu, which sound totally bogus to me.
