"Amnesty Amnesia" Claims Another Victim: MIKE HUCKABEE
Team Tancredo ^ | Tom Tancredo

Posted on 09/09/2007 4:05:17 PM PDT by NapkinUser

In a press release issued, former Governor Mike Huckabee took issue with the Tancredo campaign's characterization of him as a pro-amnesty politician. Unfortunately for the Governor, the facts support the label.

Fact #1. As Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee denounced an immigration bill (Arkansas Senate Bill 206) that "would have required proof of citizenship to register to vote and would have required state agencies to report suspected cases of people living in the country illegally."
(Doug Thompson, "Immigration Bill un-christian..governor says"Arkansas News Bureau 1/28/05)

Fact #2. As Governor, Mike Huckabee offered a proposal to give state funded scholarships and state benefits to illegal aliens.
(Laura Kellams, "Huckabee Plan would give aid to illegal aliens" Arkansas Democrat Gazette 1/12/2005)

Fact #3. Governor Huckabee supported a Bush-backed immigration plan that provides a path to citizenship for some illegal aliens.
(CNN 2008 Election Center, http://edition.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/candidates/mike.huckabee.html)

Fact #4. Governor Huckabee refuses to sign the "No Amnesty Pledge".

The Governor is suffering from what is called "amnesty amnesia". It is a contagious ailment spreading rapidly through the ranks of the Republican presidential candidates.

Watch Huckabee admit to selling out our citizenship to illegal aliens. He thinks it's not amnesty, but illegal aliens still get the grand prize: citizenship.

I listened to his “Americans always welcome good people” drivel for a few minutes and put him into the loser column inmediatamente.

How about Fred and “Michael Steele”?

I’m not sure what he is doing now, but he is an articulate, knowledgeable accomplished politician.

Little Rock - Governor Huckabee says he’s not afraid of risking his political future by speaking out against a recent immigration raid at an Arkadelphia poultry plant even though he says calls to his office have been “about 1,000 to one’’ against his position.

The governor says many of the callers are angry and use profanity. He says immigration is a very emotional issue and people become irrational over it.

“I would hope that no matter who we are, or where we are from, that America should always be a place that opens its arms, opens it heart, opens its spirit to people who come because they want the best for their families ...,” Huckabee said as the largely Hispanic audience gave him a standing ovation.

Huckabee was the keynote speaker, along with Tyson Foods Inc. Chairman and CEO John Tyson

...When people say illegal immigrants take jobs from Americans, Huckabee said he asks them to name someone “who cannot get a job because a Mexican illegally here has taken the job they want.”

“If that’s the case, if you can get me their name and phone number by five this afternoon, I can have them making a bed, plucking a chicken, tarring a roof or picking a tomato by the morning at 8 o’ clock,” he said.

No one has been able to give him a name, he said. Illegal immigrants have jobs Americans don’t want, he said...

All these guys are no good in my book, they are just trying to trick us: Giuliani, Romney, McCain, Brownback, Huckabee.

I have my doubts about Thompson, too. I need much more convincing on him.

It really boils down to their past actions, comments, voting records and inner circles/contributors--nothing to do with what any of them spin today and for the next four or five months..

If they don't pass the smell test, I say, "Flush Em!"

There is too much at stake.

There is too much to lose.

We cannot afford another 8 years of do-nothing, open borders, compassionate conservatism.

AS A COUNTRY, WE WILL DIE!!

I don’t think Huckabee will even carry Arkansas...at least I hope not.

Liberty2007, I like the name. By the way, welcome.

fact#5: Huckabee lobbied for the Mexican Consulate in Little Rock, which has issued over 4,000 matricular cards to illegals:

4,000 ID's issued by Mexican consulate; Huckabee lobbied for it

Done... I am afraid not. My fear is that some lame brain RINO will pick him as a running mate (Feeling that they need a Southern “conservative” to win)...

If Rudi were to win the nomination, I think this would be a very real possibility

I saw Huckabee preach at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis during
the late Dr. Rogers illness. He is one slick talker.

There's one good word for guys like Huckabee and other Republicans
sold out for illegals:
MENDACITY
