Haven't posted a vanity in a long time. Work for a LARGE software company, and the constant SUCK-flap is driving me crazy!!

Ha, those things sure do look wide enough to fit the whole *family* into one pair. ;-)
Except for the beach or around the house, lounging on the lanai and such, I don’t understand the allure of the rubbah slippah. Shoe stores in Hawaii are filled with selections of much nicer thong-type sandals (e.g. leather with sturdy heels), so why do people wear the rubber to the mall or restaurants? And I’d never seen cheap rubber flip-flops with high, wedge heels until I lived in Hawaii. Cheesy pink rubbah slippahs with 4 in. wedge heels, with sequins even... Stacy London would be horrified, although she might secretly wish to own a pair, lol.
No you are not. Flip flops are hideous. Most people, if they knew their feet were as disgusting as they are would wear boots all of the time. However, there are a few feet that are actually pretty. But most are not.

Back in the day they were called “shower shoes”, and folks in the barraks wore them to keep from getting foot fungus when they hit the showers.
Whenever I see them, I think of foot fungus, that bothers me more than the suck.
I love boots. All kinds of boots. They keep your feet well protected when riding & I would wear them all the time if it didn’t get so hot here. I don’t even mind the heels on some of my boots. You are correct...most feet aren’t very pretty.
I love cowboy boots and cowboy hats. John Wayne, you know. It just makes you feel better. I used to love Beatle Boots too.

I love my cowboy hats too. Never wore the beatle boots but I’ve got a closet full of boots. All kinds of boots. When my favorite cowboy boots got too worn out I planted a cactus in one of them. Goes well with the southwestern stuff in my living room. I really didn’t want to part with that pair.

I can't say this should be advised for all hippies. I have a friend with hippie viewpoints. He's not a radical leftist freak and he's just groovy to talk to. Of course, he's busy self loathing right now, since I sent him an article posted here yesterday about what liberals supposedly think and realized he was supposed to hate himself.
Refer these morons to the study that came out this week saying doctors are very much against flip-flops. They cause shin-splints, etc., etc.
That said, I don't see what the big controversy is. Many of the women wear them around these parts and the "slip-slap" noise they make is no more annoying to me than the "click-clack" of their high heels.
I remember when I first started out in the business world, suits were mandatory. I'm talking Oxford shoes, a full suit (with vest) and shirt and tie. It was so uncomfortable. Now the basic dress code for men is khakis, penny loafers and a cotton shirt (short sleeve polo in summer). Even for upper management. Sure, we will throw on a suit for important meetings and such but basically it's business casual. So much more comfortable and personally, I'm much more productive during the day. Definitely don't want to go back to the old dress code.
Then again, you'll never catch me at work in shorts, T-shirts or flip-flops. I guess I'm just old-fashioned like that.
