"Duncan Hunter was once again, the best of the rest" Frankly, Hunter was the only one on the stage other than Paul who did not have to tapdance around his pathetic record. Rudy lied through his teeth, again, saying he did not go after guns, but criminals. Huckabee stinks on illegal immigration, and Fox's use of his quote calling anti-amnesty people racist sunk him. Tanc has decent answers but is a nervous nellie up there. McCain is still defending amnesty. And Mitt was pretty good, though rambling on Iraq, and his record does not match his rhetoric.
All in all, another pretty good night for Hunter. The only one who never sticks his foot in his mouth.

I agree, Duncan had a great night, the rest just had so-so. Of course the Hukabee/Paul exchange was what kept me awake.
At least 5 more minutes.

I thought Duncan didn’t get enough air time, it seemed they were avoiding him. Especially the first question about FRed.

I had forgotten the “racist” comment from Huckabee. Okay. That strikes another from the list of possibles. Off my list (in order of first to go) are: Paul, Brownback, Tommy Thompson, Juliani (I can never spell his name right), Tancredo and Huckabee — all for various and sundry reasons. I’m for (and always have been) a Fred Thompson/Duncan Hunter ticket. It remains to be seen if they can hang on to my support.
In the long-run, however, my vote will be for anybody but Hillary Clinton, John Edwards or Barrack Obama.

Giuliani (as he said again in the debate last night) has no problem with 'sanctuary cities' as long as the illegals are not breaking the law. Say what? I wish that one of the other candidates would have challenged him on that one by saying, "Think about what you just said, Rudy".
That was the outrage of the night--and no one really 'called him on those idiotic comments'!
So Rudy has no problem with 'law-abiding' illegals??? Huh??? By definition, ILLEGALS are not law-abiding citizens--they ARE breaking the law.

God, Fox is dragging out Geraldine Ferrarro, once again, to state that her favorite is, of course, McCain. The Dems must be very worried when they resort to dragging Ferraro out, LOL!
To: pissant
The non-serious candidates need to drop out of the debate. Hunter, Brownback, Huckabee, Tancredo, and Paul stand no chance of winning the nomination or even being on the ticket.
To: pissant
Besides Giuliani's outrageous comments on illegal immigrants, the other BIG OUTRAGE (Paul doesn't even count anymore)--was Rudy using the
"CLINTON DEFENSE" for his train-wreck of a personal life.
When the importance of a President 'setting an example' for the rest of the country came up in a question from the diner,,,,
Rudy commented that he should be judged by his job performance in office, and not by his private life. Geeee,,,,,is it just me, or have we heard that lame, cop-out 'defense' before?....lol

Some observations from last nights debate;
Ron Paul is a certifiable loon and how any FReeper can support him with a straight face is way beyond me.
I like Tancredo, but there can be no doubt that hes a one issue candidate.
Rudy is a blowhard and New Yorkers can have him back. We dont want him here in the Midwest. Give him a job at Fox, maybe replacing Colmes. Hell, Hannity has him on every other night, that is, when hes not talking to Al Sharpton.
Mitts middle name is RINO.
Huckabee doesnt have a clue.
McCain blew it with his support of immigration reform, and he can talk all he wants about terrorists and the WOT, but hell soon dry up and blow away.
Was Brownback even there?
I was impressed with Hunter but he hardly got any questions.
And oh yes; Ron Paul is a certifiable loon.

Duncan Hunter had sincerety, knowledge and poise last night. He is the one fit and serious enough to take on all of our problems.
This must be why the MSM will not allow him much attention. They never ask him a full round of questions on all issues.

Giuliani can't answer a single question without mentioning N.Y.
I noticed that one of the locals mentioned this last night and until now I hadn't noticed. He did it all through the debate and in the post-debate appearance on H&C.
Don't get me wrong, he worked a miracle in N.Y., I just think people are getting tired of hearing about it.
I'm at a loss for words about Ron Paul's performance.
