What a shame. One of my fondest “smell” memories is the local bakery and the wonderful smell of bread baking. To bad for southern California.

announced the closure of four bakeries, 17 distribution centers and 19 outlet stores, leaving 1,300 Californians out of work.

They should print on the 1300 pink slips something along the lines of: "You lost your job due to Arnolds Global Warming policies and legislation."

CO2 generation is inevitable in any human activity, including Schwarzenegger’s daily workouts, which I doubt he intends to reduce due to his increased CO2 emissions. Indeed, the wine industry, one of California’s greatest local industries, is a major CO2 emitter because CO2 is always emitted by the fermentation of grapes, or any other carbohydrate that’s converted to alcohol. The whole GW hysteria is nothing but a giant attack on human enterprise, which cannot function without emitting CO2.

I wonder if any of those 1300 were Freepers who supported Arnold originally way back when he first ran.

And Arnold ran as the one to rescue California’s economy from liberal over-regulation. Now he’s adding to it. Soon, California will be viewed as a parasite on the rest of the nation. Part of their electricity shortage problems is that they must bring in power generated in other states. Now looks like they’ll have to bring in Wonder Bread and other products from other states not so over-regulated as California.

“Such hooey! Ruin the economy, save the planet? Let’s all just jump off a bridge — should be really pristine then. I made bread yesterday just to do my part to fight this idiocy.”

I have been doing my part to fight this idiocy too. Have been making my own bread about every four days for the past 12 years.:)

From the article:
"The iconic breads – that had been staples of Southern California grocery stores since the 1940s – will completely disappear from shelves starting October 20th."

There will not even be any imports.

You don’t mind WB leaving the state? What about passing the culture to our children? Who is going to teach them how to make those little balls out of a slice? It will be a major cultural loss just for that.

I do my bread on weekends. Usually make a few loaves and maybe some focaccia or pizza.

Fresh bread is worth a little CO2, especially if I can drive a few envirowackos to apoplexy in the process.

So, who knew that making bread was a revolutionary and anti-government undertaking?

I don’t mind them taking non-food items packaged as food off the shelves.

Maybe Arnold could hire you to ban foods you don't like.

“There will not even be any imports.”

It might turn out that way, but I can’t imagine any company just writing off the huge California market, the world’s seventh largest economy I think Arnold said. And what are Californians gonna do for bread? Where will all the fast food joints get their buns? I doubt many Californians will take up baking at home (which Arnie might have to prohibit, also).

Maybe other companies will take up the slack, but that’s just more CO2. It’ll be interesting to watch how this plays out.

This is neat.... maybe California will become one giant Detroit.

The dems and libs are just peachy for "progress".

The parasites are already jumping states and hitting Texas. We need to close our borders...now that I'm here..hahahahahaha.
