The most popular political slur of our time is the term "neocon." Politically engaged people of several ideologies use the term regularly and although they mean different things when they use it, the term is always intended to be an insult, like the terms "neo-Nazi," and "fascist," also favorite slurs of the same ilk using "neocon." I was first called a neocon by known Democratic Socialists upset by my writings in favor of Americas founding principles, Life, individual Liberty and the right to pursue Happiness in a free market society where all things are possible through individual achievement and reward.
Since Democratic Socialists believe in and support Death not Life (abortion), a Greater Communal Good - not Individual Rights and the right to take from achievers via progressive taxation - not the right to live free, earn and retain wealth by the sweat of ones own brow, I took the term neocon as a compliment.

The hate mail I have received from Ron Paul supporters reads just like the hate mail I have always received from Marxists around the globe and across the aisle. Its hate-filled overtly angry foul mouthed and threatening rhetoric that reads like it was written by anti-Semitic skin-heads on crack. I doubt that even Ron Paul would be proud of how his supporters behave

I'd also add that you don't sound like much of a "neo-conservative" at all . . . you sound more like a pretty conservative guy who has simply thrown up his hands and surrendered on some issues.
Yeah, these morons are "conservative." LOL.
Sigh...do any of you have a dictionary?
Imperialism--The practice of one country extending its control over the territory, political system, or economic life of another country
The Armed Forces of these US has extended its control over the 'territory, political system, and economic life' of Iraq in one fashion or another. While you can claim it's short term it still fits the definition. You support this policy, therefore you are a supporter of imperialistic foreign policy
Can’t wait to see how badly the Galveston paleopipsqueak is crushed in the caucuses and primaries. You will hear that. Tick, tick, tick....
The New Deal steamroller chugs on, to the cheers of the communitarians who never cared for the idea of a republic in the first place.
The New Deal steamroller chugs on, to the cheers of the communitarians who never cared for the idea of a republic in the first place.
And the late Jeanne Kirkpatrick and the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan.
Can’t believe it’s still going on....
Likewise, we won't be reviving the foreign policy of Neville Chamberlain or Liberty Bell Lemke or Charles Lindberg. Those who want to do either as a leadoff strategy belong among the Libertoonians along with the dopers and the paleopacifist weenies.
-Justice Clarence Thomas.
Right here, right now.
“The Armed Forces of these US has extended its control over the ‘territory, political system, and economic life’ of Iraq in one fashion or another. “
Ah, the revisionist history of the anti-American crowd. Your fradulent accusations against America would put America in violation of UNSCR 1546, which reaffirms ‘the independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Iraq’ and ‘the right of the Iraqi people freely to determine their own political future and control their own natural resources’. Do you have evidence that the U.S. is in violation of this treaty, and if so, why hasn’t it been presented to the Council?
Neo-Con, when the term was originated, was a group of mostly "ex"-Communist, entirely anti-Soviet persons. They were certainly not conservative in domestic matters then and, in the opinion of many, are not conservative now. They included Jeane Kirkpatrick, Irvin Kristol, etc.
It never ends. The wind will alwys blow.
We're supposed to "roll back decades of federal government largesse", without looking back at those decades and the root cause? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
I’m not sure, but I have read that a Neo-Con is an allegedly reformed Trotskyite Communist.
This is the mammoth difference isolationist libertarians refuse to acknowledge.
And you'll provide the limited government, conservative basis for this action then will you? Or is it now your position that we should 'put down' any leader that doesn't provide the 'right' form of government?
Of course you'll have to make the distinction between 'tyrants' that are currently on the US payroll (i.e. Musharaff), 'tyrants' that are no longer on the US payroll (making them susceptible to removal), or 'tyrants' that are currently keeping their peoples in bondage but their nation's geographical location represents no definitive interest from the current administration
this I didn't know....interesting.
Eh, I’m not convinced. Ron Paul is pro-life.
This guy is trying too hard to make a point that isn’t there, I guess to justify his anti-Ron Paul jihad.
