"Neo-Con" Do You Qualify?
PC Free News ^ | September 4, 2007 | JB Williams

Posted on 09/04/2007 11:50:38 AM PDT by PlainOleAmerican

The most popular political slur of our time is the term "neocon." Politically engaged people of several ideologies use the term regularly and although they mean different things when they use it, the term is always intended to be an insult, like the terms "neo-Nazi," and "fascist," also favorite slurs of the same ilk using "neocon." I was first called a “neocon” by known Democratic Socialists upset by my writings in favor of America’s founding principles, Life, individual Liberty and the right to pursue Happiness in a free market society where all things are possible through individual achievement and reward.

Since Democratic Socialists believe in and support Death not Life (abortion), a Greater Communal Good - not Individual Rights and the right to take from achievers via progressive taxation - not the right to live free, earn and retain wealth by the sweat of one’s own brow, I took the term “neocon” as a compliment.

(snip)

The hate mail I have received from Ron Paul supporters reads just like the hate mail I have always received from Marxists around the globe and across the aisle. It’s hate-filled overtly angry foul mouthed and threatening rhetoric that reads like it was written by anti-Semitic skin-heads on crack. I doubt that even Ron Paul would be proud of how his supporters behave…

BB: Republican establishment=95% of the party's rank and file voters as paleoPaulie and his paleopals are about to find out as he is and they are crushed in the caucuses and primaries.

Now that Michigan is moving to get ahead of New Hampshire and Iowa each of which will move to get back in front, the paleoguys have about three and a half months before paleoPaulie begins to be slaughtered by actual GOP voters. Tick, tick, tick....

But, wait, what about the straw poll at the annual amalgamated convention of shrimpin' interests, Galveston trolley guys, Galveston bus operators, antiwar antiAmerican peace creeps and dopesmokers???? Won't paleoPaulie do well there? Isn't anyone interested? Doesn't anybody care??? All they are saaaaaaying is give surrender (and earmarks) a chance!!!!

I knew it... first, evidence is what you wanted, but once presented with evidence, you run for cover under some lame defense of the defenseless...

You’re EXPOSED! LOL

Thanks for showing everyone exactly what Paul supporters are like! Well done!

I think I was a neocon, until I realized not everyone wants L,L & TPOH. Some folks just aren’t wired for it. I never took being called a neocon as insulting, though, and for all I know, I may still be one. The protean nature of the word keeps it slippery as boiled okra, so I withhold judgement.

All that said, I was with the author three-quarters of the way through the first paragraph. Then, recognizing this was not my gene pool, I climbed out and hit the showers.

You’ll have to ask a Democratic Socialist behind that agenda. Neocon’s don’t know?

AMEN to that! We lost a chance to have US security in almost every port around the world because of how people knee jerked to those 'Arabs' buying up transport docks.. If people took even a couple of seconds to research, they would have found that there were even Americans on the board of DPI, and International company.

"Yeah, “neocon” is the term used by the left when they’re afraid to say “k*ke”.

Yep. Actually a very large portion of the left is virulently anti-Semitic. Just take a gander at some of the posters at DU and Daily Kos.

Not this one.

"ONE" being the operative term, of course.

Not too hard to figure out the difference between "all they are saying" and "all you're claiming you hear".

I tend to find the usage of “neo-con” as an epithet from the left is an anti-Semitic slur.

That's the way I've always taken it. It's what they say when they can't say "Jew-Lover".

I could not find “Commerce Clause” cited in any of them..

Examples:
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/D?c109:5:./temp/~c109ndr38T::

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/D?c108:5:./temp/~c108SHACeH::

That may be an excuse Paul claims to hide behind, but what is the result of a NO vote?

Yes, that modern day slur refers to “the Jews and their lobby who want war!”.

It is used to defend the “stability” of the ME under Saddam and Sons. (lol)

And to insist that the State of Israel is not worth defending, and should be allowed to fall.

I think it should be noted that even Russell Kirk stood up for Irving Kristol when the Neocon label was being used as dismissivie for the elder Kristol.

Kirk mentioned that in the post Taft era, he was called a NeoCon. Then, as Meyer and Kristol joined the ranks of conservatism, the former leftists were derided for past sins.

Kirk asked, let’s skip the labels and see what they believe.
See the Politics of Prudence for his thoughts on this in ‘96.

Now, I will grant you that as the Weekly Standard gained promenance under the younger Kristol, there are those there who claim projection of power and almost an armed struggle for the west to the exclusion of good conservative principles, basing all on economic free trade and the like. The usage heightened in the late nineties as that sort of limited conservative became more commonplace.

Like “liberal”, “libertarian” or even “conservative” it is a very indistinct term.

Maybe you believe this because Democratic Socialists labeled these guys “neocons” years ago and have been repeating that ran for seven years now?

That’s why you’re against the war on terrorism... The press told you to be... Maybe this is why you think these guys are neocons, the press told you so...

The links don’t resolve.

The operative phrase will be “substantially affects commerce”.
