There comes a time in politics, as in war, when the momentum shifts noticeably. When events reach "a tipping point."
The discussion amongst politicians in Washington and media figures in New York about the Iraqi battlefield in the War Against Islamofacism has reached such a point. Again.
***
The Times of London, not known for its support of any recent American initiative and certainly not counted as a cheerleader for Western efforts in Iraq, this week published a breathlessly positive report on progress in Ramadi, the capital of Anbar province.
***
The conquest of al Qaeda in Anbar, and make no mistake about it, conquest is the proper term, is consequential for all of Iraq.
***
All this begins to explain the growing confusion and discord among those most strongly opposed to the Bush Administration's approach to war.
***
The Los Angeles Times eventually acknowledged the changes on the ground, that progress was being achieved "slowly and subtly," but added about the positive news it was reporting
"It is not a message many politicians in Washington want to hear."
When news reports from the battlefield describe battlefield transformations as breathtakingparticularly reports in journals that more typically blame America firstthe effect on members of the chattering classes is similar to a light suddenly illuminating cockroaches infesting a long-dark storage room. The confusion is surpassed only by the sounds of the scampering.

The Dims are led, pushed and pulled by U.S. Marxists and they have been trying to snatch U.S. defeat from U.S. victory in Iraq - in any and every way possible - from the day the first American soldier hit Iraqi soil. It will not change, no matter what happens in Iraq.
Of course not. The liberal mindset needs another Viet Nam..
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
The casino mob must be supporting this guy. Everyone I knew from Nevada was Conservative. Of course that was pre 1992. Why do idiot liberals abandon their hell holes and create new ones? Reid is a failure.
He and the Pelosie would be better off waving the white flag on Iraq and moving on so the Democrats have SOMETHING to run on in 2008.
Ping.
Harry Reid at one time acted liek a patriot. that was long ago. Now he is Cindy Sheehan’s twin sister.
Keep digging your hole, Harry. Go off the cliff into political suicide with your continued (dare I say it) SURGE for defeat. Then your party will be REALLY screwed in 2008!
These elite liberal hatriotics had better pray that Iraq doesn't become a rich and free standing nation. A rich and free Iraq might hire a lot of mercs to capture and bring these war criminals to trial in Iraq for War Crimes against innocent Iraqis.
The Surge is Working and Crooked Harry is in the Trap
Pray for W and Our Troops
Yes, you’d think so.
Amen to great news. Sorry that I cannot response as quick because I am on an overseas business trip.
No problem.
AN INTERESTING ANALOGY........
WW II - Analogy
During World War II — the Japanese developed a way to demoralize the American forces. Psychological warfare experts developed a message they felt would work. They gave the script to their famous broadcaster “Tokyo Rose” and every day she would broadcast this same message packaged in different ways, hoping it would have a negative impact on American GI’s morale.
What was that demoralizing message? It had three main points:
1. Your President is lying to you.
2. This war is illegal.
3. You cannot win the war.
Does this sound familiar?
Hillary, Harry, John, Teddy, Nancy, and etc. have picked up on the same message and are broadcasting it on CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, etc., to our nation’s citizens and our troops?
The only difference is that they claim to support our troops before they demoralize them. Come to think of it, didn’t Tokyo Rose tell the troops she was on their side, too?
