blog updates from Honduras:

except for this first (and most recent)entry about the river flooding, Honduras looks to have faired ok

Flooding in northwest Honduras

Hurricane Felix was a non-event for Honduras.

With the exception of the sparsely populated La Mosquitia area, reports from people living in La Ceiba, Roatán, Gracias, Juticalpa, San Pedro, Siguatepeque, Tegucigalpa, Tela, Trujillo, Tocoa, Utila all report the same thing:

Honduras had some rain and no wind to speak of. Several people in those areas commented that the rain was actually LESS than any normal day during rainy season. Here at my house, we received one inch (2.5 cm.) of rain from 6:20 until 11:00 p.m. last night and there has been no rain for the past 12 hours. Early reports from COPECO (Honduran national emergency agency) reported that agriculture, a major concern for Honduras, would not be affected at all.

Over at WU , the guy that took the video has it up. It’s now about 5 minutes of film. At one time, the instrument panel was almost off the screen. Lightening really “lighted” up the skies.

I don’t even care much about flying but some crazy part of me wishes I could have been there. Did you see that this isn’t even the flight that got in trouble?

I’m just going to hang up all the Wx and become a professional MS installer. Lord knows THAT could be a full time job. And everybody KNOWS that I need a job.

Today (September 10), there is a disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico that might bring rain to South Texas.

I am not sure what the forecast is -- it is a just a tropical depression -- but there is alot of moisture associated with it...

I was concerned that it would get things wet and then 91 would blow in but it looks like the big one will curve. So far this is ST’s thunderstorm.
