Sure didn't disappoint. At first I was wondering when things would pick up, thinking the lightning was cool enough but then about 3 minutes into it wowza rocking and rolling! Awesome pics of the instrument readings and the eye, too. And to the Doors!

CD;

I was watching the shaking and jolting. The camera guy was holding steady but you could tell the way it would jolt that it was a rough ride.

I flew “cargo” in the back many a time and much smoother flights than that could still get the small paper bags passed out and filled up.

key to future landfall is probably how far east it ends up after this intial development phase. too far east and it's going to have a tough time drifting west under the ridging to the north to make it to the coast before being picked up by what should be a decent fall-like push of air for the northeast coming with a trough next week.

99L has made it pretty far east with minimal development thus far. I think the threat has been greatly diminished along much of the East Coast after today's trends. Something should begin developing tomorrow, but it could be a difficult task to make it all the way back before getting picked up and kicked out by a decent trough moving through.

Looks like it’s being pushed out of it’s ability to come back, but of course, that can all change over night. :)

Was checking the buoys in the area and 41002 seems to have gone off "in search of" potential weather events.

Wonder if he was still transmitting when he was off rambling?

The Buoy was recovered and switched off.

Is is amazing the number of buoys that are missing or not transmitting.

41002 went off joy riding in Feb. You’d figure that they would have hauled it back out to it’s site and dropped a new anchor line by the start of Hurricane season.

Looks like with a little effort, he could emerge into the Pacific. NHC

Seems to me that should not have been that difficult. If they switched it off, it would imply that it was still operating and probably pretty easy to find. :)
