“The folks on The WeatherChannel will be absolutely salivating!”
Especially Heidi Cullen.
LOL, that’s exactly what I was referring to.
I was driving a Mustang and it was raining so hard this morning on my way to work that I thought about going back and getting the truck.
111 kts recorded at flight level...
the next burst of data should be in the NE eyewall where the max winds are
should have data in a few minutes
Gusts are already at 160
It rained on and off here, but I kept right on mowing. Made it a lot cooler, but it sure dig clog up the mower.
Listening to FoxNews right now. They`re calling Felix a storm on steroids, and it could become a Cat-5 within hours.
Yeah. My husband mowed today too. He had to. It was starting to look like a jungle around here.
this is live recon I am posting....
at 1350N 07228W recon found 111kt substained winds..they transmite in bursts of data..and the next burst should have tshe max winds in it
just foiud 147kts at flight level and a 936 MB pressure
thats 150-155 surface winds substained
A five?
no a high end 4 still..but this thing is still bombing out though..it had dropped 21MB in 3-4 hours..by the time the plane leaves in a couple of hours it may be a five....
not sure if it will have another set of data nefore the next advisory is issued
Makes me want to delete post #1 of this thread...
936? Whoa.
I hope you were there to lend moral support, unlike my other half.
Originally, they thought this hurricane would follow Dean’s track...so the water wouldn’t be as warm. This hurricane seems to be south of Dean’s track...so the water is warm enough to give this hurricane the fuel to become strong.
I was wondering about that. Does the eye look like it is getting larger?
Ah...well....ah....:’)
INFO HERE The median ACE index is 89.5 2005 was the record with 248, 2006 was only 79
a 100kt hurricane would add a full point every 6 hours..a 140kt Cat 5, 1.96
Deans total ACE index was around 35
Thanks. Very interesting.
