I was driving a Mustang and it was raining so hard this morning on my way to work that I thought about going back and getting the truck.

Listening to FoxNews right now. They`re calling Felix a storm on steroids, and it could become a Cat-5 within hours.

Yeah. My husband mowed today too. He had to. It was starting to look like a jungle around here.

Makes me want to delete post #1 of this thread...

Originally, they thought this hurricane would follow Dean’s track...so the water wouldn’t be as warm. This hurricane seems to be south of Dean’s track...so the water is warm enough to give this hurricane the fuel to become strong.

the ACE index(Accumulated cyclone energy) is perhaps the best way to judge a season...you take the storms winds in kts, square it, then divide by 10000...during the four main NHC updates..then total these up from all the storms

INFO HERE The median ACE index is 89.5 2005 was the record with 248, 2006 was only 79

a 100kt hurricane would add a full point every 6 hours..a 140kt Cat 5, 1.96

Deans total ACE index was around 35
