Forget foreign language encroaching into business and multi-lingual teaching (for those who’s first language is not English). The BIGGER problem is foreign language balloting as the PRECISE language on a ballot can sway a vote to NO or YES on a ballot initiative or state constitutional amendment.
Ballot language is PRECISE. Translations are not.
Sad to see so many “conservatives” kiss the ass of La Raza...Karl Rove, George Bush, Grover Norquist...
One student says: "white power" and people go nuts....while our government uses taxpayer dollars to fund an organization whose motto is: "everything for the race...nothing for outside the race"...(good old LaRaza) geez we suffer too much from white guilt...don't you think?....:o(
skinny white kid walks down the street. as he passes me he yells "white power!"
now a skinny black kid walks down the same street and as he passes me yells "black power!"
i'd be much more taken back by the white kid. not really sure why. i guess it's just all the hitler images and such that come with "white power."
i've been made to feel guilty whenever anyone yells "black power." like i personally oppressed an entire race and they are just trying to get out from under. just my 2 cents...

I agree...unless they intend to own/manage a car wash..Spanish is useless otherwise....I've never heard anyone speaking Spanish and wondered for one second what they were saying....you can be sure they aren't discussing sub-atomic physics...

Kids shouldn’t be forced to take a foreign language in school.
If someone WANTS to learn a second language on their own, thats wonderful. But to cram it down their throats when most of the kids i know really don’t know their first language all that well.
I see your point...the issue isn’t this simple though, because for The United States of America to remain united, it involves the participation of all immigrants and all races as outlined by the Constitution. To resolve the issue, it may seem at first glance to retreat to “what about whites only” arguments...but I think the real answer is to create a group similar to the ACLU that goes around suing all race based organizations. This way, intelligent people from all races can participate in wiping out racism in all of its forms. If this makes you uncomfortable, then you need to re-examine your definition of racism....Your response is welcome...as are others.
My friend sees it as an insult. He says, “I was born in Mobile, Alabama. My mom was a American, my dad was a American and I am American and I fought for America. I sure as heck didn’t do any fighting for Africa-America.”
His son married a girl of Japanese descent and he’s over in Iraq right now. I wonder if he feels he’s fighting for Japan-America or just America.
Skin color doesn’t mean squat to me. Character is what counts.
