The Putnam County Sheriff's Office arrested nine Colombian men Friday and charged them with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, a sheriff's investigator said today.
At least six of the men are being held as illegal aliens, said sheriff's investigator Harry Luke. Additionally, the men are believed to be a part of an organized crime ring that the FBI is linking to roughly 100 robberies of jewelry merchants across the country, Luke said.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office tipped off Putnam officials, telling them about the men's alleged plot to rob two jewelry merchants, Luke said. One of the merchants is a resident of Eatonton, and the other is from Texas. Between them, they were carrying about $500,000 in merchandise.
The Colombians were staking out the Eatonton merchant's home, not realizing police were already alerted to their presence. Luke said the sheriff's office place a deputy inside the house to protect the two men, who were told of the alleged plot.
Luke said deputies were able to arrest nine of the men, who were travelling in six cars, without incident. One of the cars managed to get away. It was later discovered in Gwinnett County, but the car's occupants got away, Luke said.
"It was very successful," he said. "Nobody got hurt. It's good we were able to do something before any citizen was robbed. The Texas merchant had already been robbed twice before."
Luke said the Colombians were armed with knives and a Daisy BB pistol. They also had black-hooded sweatshirts, sunglasses, black scarves and black caps. Luke said the men were planning to follow the two merchants and and accost them while they were on the road.
The men are currently being held without bond in the Putnam County jail.

Well, I’ll be the first to say it. Doing the stealing Americans don’t want to do.
News stories involving crime committed by illegal aliens seem to be being published every hour or two. One can imagine how many are NOT being captured or caught.
Additionally, the men are believed to be a part of an organized crime ring that the FBI is linking to roughly 100 robberies of jewelry merchants across the country, Luke said.
Only 100 robberies? American's must be nearing meltdown mode.
“At least six of the men are being held as illegal aliens”
How can we have illegals here? Our government tells us they have taken care of that little problem.

It’s a shame. Some enterprising American criminal could have profited from those 100 robberies of jewelers.

BUMP
They meant to say “Undocumented”, in that they hadn’t yet received their fraudulent Social Security cards, Welfare cards, and La Raza membership cards.
Capish?
Now that is going to piss jorge off, but then I guess he can pardon them later.
I do not believe that illegal immigrants who come to United States to support their poor families back home would resort to criminal activity!
Our President and many, many legislators say that America NEEDS these unforunate immigrants and that we should be compassionate towards them. THAT IS WHY HE IS KEEPING THE BORDERS OPEN!!
Has the administration said anything about United States needing Muslim terrorists, oops, I mean immigrants? You know for diversity or something like that. I should sign up for a few multicultural classes at the community college I suppose.

You wouldn’t be the only one.
Interesting read, here:

FTA (page 2):
Peter Brown, terrorism and security consultant, stated that the “biggest element” to the DEA report is the ease with which terrorist cells have taken on new identities.
“The ability for people to completely transform their nationalities absent of their own identities is a dangerous step in the evolution of this cross-border operation,” he said. “This is a true threat.”
Lending credence to Mr. Brown’s concern, an El Paso, Texas, law-enforcement report documents the influx of “approximately 20 Arab persons a week utilizing the Travis County Court in Austin to change their names and driver’s licenses from Arabic to Hispanic surnames.”
That last: I thought the serious terrorists came through after already possessing false documents obtained during their Hispanic Indoctrination training. Obtaining name-changes from any agency of our own government sounds more like Arabic women marrying Hispanic men or former thralls going “native”.
Ha ha!!
Dumb a$$e$ picked probably the WORST county in GA to do this. Sheriff Howard Sills is a GREAT sheriff! One of my only regrets moving from Putnam County a couple of months ago!
HA ha ha ha ha!!!
From the link I posted above:
“We are the eyes and ears when it comes to gathering intelligence on the cartels and smugglers,” said the DEA official. “What we know for sure is that persons associated with terrorist groups have discovered what cartels have known all along the border is the backdoor into the U.S.”
According to a Department of Homeland Security intelligence report obtained by The Times, nearly every part of the Border Patrol’s national strategy is failing.
“Al Qaeda has been trying to smuggle terrorists and terrorist weapons illegally into the United States,” the 2006 document states. “This organization has also tried to enter the U.S. by taking advantage of its most vulnerable border areas. The seek to smuggle OTMs [other than Mexicans] from Middle Eastern countries into the U.S.”
Perhaps I’m stating it wrong. What kind of terrorists believe that our government conveniently loses their former names and what is known of their origins through a legal name change?
I could be sarcastic and postulate that the Muzzies seek to take advantage of invisibility and protection from law enforcement that so many illegals possessing Hispanic surnames enjoy. Realistically I suspect that running their new names through law enforcement databases reveals who they truly are.
Or did Ted Kennedy manage to make that verbotten, too?
I believe that the original name is lost in the gubbmint red tape. And, how many Hispanic sur-names are there?
The names Martinez, Gonzales, Rodriquez or Hernandez will have millions of hits. Not alarming as Muslim names.
Sheriff Sills has been busy lately. He’s busted up two big auto theft rings in the last couple month or so, too. One was based in Dawson County and the other down in south Georgia somewhere.
Any criminal who allows his endeavors to in any way touch Putnam County Georgia is a foolish thief. There is no lawman in this country as good as Howard Sills. He is tenacious as a bulldog when it comes to stopping criminals.
His track record is truly amazing - huge criminal enterprises that stretch across the nation that have gone unmolested by any other law enforcement agency are ended as soon as they cross into Putnam County.
And Harry Luke is a former DNR Ranger and as nice a guy as you’d ever want to meet. But he can smell dope like a blood hound.
