I really think that John Kerry has overstayed his welcome. While it’s always difficult for Republicans to win in MA, it’s not impossible. And Kerry’s personal unpopularity gives an opening for the likely Republican nominee, Jeff Beatty.

You mean John Kerry is a senator? Never knew that..... After looking at his vote attendance record it becomes obvious that he sees the Senate as more of a hobby than anything else.

45% - interesting when you consider Republicans routinely get 40% in the Bay State. I consider that an uptick in an environment where up til now, its been dismal for the GOP. Hope springs eternal.

If you look at the poll closely, it shows that Teddy has a much higher approval rating (62%) than Kerry does.

Yep. For some reason, Kerry rubs the people the wrong way, he's a loser and he's worn out his welcome.

Actually, it’s not an uptick in the political environment in MA as a whole. It’s more a growing personal rejection of John Kerry, himself.

Not a chance that Kerry loses.
No Republican will ever win statewide office ever again in MA. I live here and can flat guarantee that Kerry will win no matter who runs against him. The GOP for good measure has focused its energies in more competitive states. MA is a permanent lost cause for us.
Accept it and move on. Politicians only come here to raise money, there is no need for liberals to campaign. The winner of the Democrat primary is the default winner of the election.
I am an optimist by nature but can also see the writing on the wall and accept reality instead of wishing for the impossible.

An opening for our candidate to maybe get 30% of the vote. This being Ratsachusetts, the disapprovals probably come from people that think Kerry is too right wing (a la Lieberman). He’ll still win by a decent margin. We shouldn’t waste a dime on this race.

While its always difficult for Republicans to win in MA, its not impossible. Ohhh,c'mon...what are you smoking? Massachusetts will not again go for a single Republican Presidential nominee or again send a single Republican to the US House or Senate in your lifetime or mine.

You are absolutely correct. No Republican will ever win again including the Governor’s office. MA is a permanent lost cause, it is beyond help. We should focus on saving NH if we can. Sunnunu’s seat is up for reelection and we could very lose that to the libs.

The odds are against it... The MAGOP is practically comatose and doesn't even have a veto-proof margin in the Legislature. For all intents and purposes the Bay State is a one party state. Republicans do win the Governorship when the Rats screw it up, as Dukakis did but that's temporary.

I doubt we can save Sununu. There is only one RINO left in the whole of New England... Chris Shays in Connecticut. He will be soon be gone and NE will be a sea of solid Blue.
