Craig to Hold Press Conference: Will He Resign? [2pm MDT]
ABC News ^ | August 28, 2007

His future in doubt, with allies denouncing his behavior and former staffers voicing disbelief at his arrest, Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, is expected to hold a press conference this afternoon that may answer questions about his political future.

Long dogged by rumors about his sexuality, the married and conservative three-term senator is expected to address the June 11 incident at Minneapolis Airport in which an undercover officer arrested him on charges of lewd conduct in a men's room.

Craig will give a statement this afternoon concerning his arrest at 2 p.m. Mountain Time in downtown Boise, a spokesman said. Craig's staff said he would not take questions.

I am not gay, I never have been gay.”

But his boyfriend is.

Exactly!

Like Clinton saying he did not 'have sex' with Monica, but she had 'sex' with him.

Oh, what mental gymnastics these guys play.

I don't approve of his actions [if true] but 'conservatives' are in short supply and I will not throw him overboard as long as this doesn't involve anyone underage.

It's still sick and illegal to engage in sexual conduct in public restrooms. If he's guilty of that, he needs to go. I'm not sure why you brought age into this.

What rules of society??? If you're not a republican, homosexuals are idolized, it's the Church and the Boy Scouts who are being demonized.

That mayor in Florida is getting pummeled for trying to stop gay sex in bathrooms.

Our society is upside down, people know it but the media, the left, and the courts have them terrorized.

Of course, we will pray too.

But hopefully someone can run against him in the primary, or he can be approached by someone who loves him and force an intervention of some kind?

Really, gay sex can be addicting, he needs to end it now and get help, before he hurts a child or something.

I am sure there are other jobs he can do while he is recovering.

Somethings up with this whatever or at least someone thought so previously.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/08/28/craig.arrest/index.html

“In 1982, Craig denied rumors that he was under investigation as part of a federal probe into allegations that lawmakers on Capitol Hill had sexual relationships with congressional pages, saying the “false allegations” made him “mad as hell.”

He was never implicated in that investigation, which led to ethics charges against two other congressmen”

Yes, sadly, you were right. Mr. Craig is going to be awfully lonely at the GOP caucuses.

Watch the money carefully. At worst, the Senator is in for a decent payday.

What happened to all the freepers who blindly defended the incompetent RINO Alberto Gonzales

Incompetency is not a crime.

He was trying to hide it. A lawyer would likely bring it public.

I don't know what kind of lawyers you've dealt with but client confidentiality is sacred. Any decent lawyer would protect their client from a public scandal.

The man is in a fog, spiritually. Take a moment to consider: if he was ‘using’ homosexual men for his sexual lusts and yet claims he is not a homosexual, he is a very non-Christian user of sadly sick humans; if he is a bi-sexual, his behavior is an indicator of his instability and inability to discern how vulnerable to blackmail he is with his licentious behavior. Larry Craig is a sick individual in soul either way and he has pled guilty to the behavior he would have the public ignore. Said behavior is degenerate sexual conduct. The man's mind is degenerate at the core, regardless of what religion he claims to espouse. He needs God's help immediately if not sooner, but we don't need such a degenerate in Congress/Senate any more than we need an active sexual degenerate bishoping for the Episcopal Church! That our society has degenerated so far that we do not discern these obvious things is frightening.

Amen!

“Why aren’t they out defending Larry Craig tooth-and-nail? He’s more conservative than AG has ever been”

Because Larry Craig and Gonzales had at least one thing in common...

Agressive open borders advocate. With 78% of americans against open borders, they are both out of step. Don’t hold your breath waiting for conservatives to defend Craig. It won’t happen.

The sound you hear is the MSM machine gearing-up. One personal interview with a bathroom “lover” per week until Larry caves.

It appears that the commie libs have a list of republican senators and congressmen that MAY have some past flaky background. They’re going after them...first it was the Louisiana Senator...he stood his ground. Now it’s Craig...hopefully he’ll stand his ground.

He pleaded to disorderly conduct.

Most of us political hacks have known of the Statesmans on going investigation. They have been on it since last year and have come up with NO real evidence other than hearsay from liberals who want to destroy him.

I have been wondering, but after hearing him, I think I believe him.

Whatever the evidence so far after months and months of trying to take him down is almost none.

If he plead not guilty, and a trial was set, would that not go public?
