Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !
RonPaul MeetUp Group ^ | 26 August 2007 | David Osborne

Posted on 08/26/2007 10:44:41 AM PDT by davidosborne

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter

Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.

I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

We’ll never know as long as the neocons are in charge, will we?

All I can say is YIKES!

I view Iran as the base territory of the current Jihad. 1979 made that clear. I believe to militarily engage Iran would require full mobilization of this nation. On the other hand with our fine volunteer army we have been able to surround Iran.

That our troops are in Iraq and Afghanistan surrounding Iran I sure hope they can establish a base friendly to our army and our nation.

I'm don't see "neocon" bogeymen around every corner.

I see an enemy who wants to kill us and calls us Satan and we can either fully mobilize and strike directly with all our resources at our enemy's homeland or we can try a strategy that doesn't require full mobilization but instead surrounds our enemy by establishing friendly bases on our enemies borders leading to the eventual defeat of the Jihad.

You jumped on the bandwagon on comments made attacking janetgreen and that her comments should be found on KOS and DU.

Quit trying to get out of, by changing the subject, of what you PLAINLY added to the dumping on of janetgreen’s opinions. I could care less what you posted two years ago.

I know what janetgreen’s been posting for longer than two years....and it would NEVER be found on KOS or DU.

"Duncan Hunter, Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo."

Two who will fight the WOT and stay in Iraq and finish the job, Huner and Tancredo. One that is already signaling his desire to surrender to Al Qaeda by taking of his white adult depends and waving them, Paul.

And lastly, if you think there is a man alive capable of shrinking modern Western government without completely breaking it and starting over, you have no business discussing politics with adults. That “shrinking government” is an idealistic pipe-dream of the highest order. I guess next we will have “world-peace” and “social justice”. Just as realistic.

Shrinking government is easier said then done. However, it makes more than one man. It's going to take 535 bureaucrats in DC to grow some god damn balls in order to get it done. Naturally, most of the bureaucrats love big government... so any drastic cuts within the next 20 yrs will probably never happen.

I Agree with you. Is downsizing DC a good idea? Hell yeah! Will it ever happen? Hell no.

The subject of the thread is not just one man’s post on a meetup — but rather the whole IDEA of Ron Paul folks seeking recruits and a MoveOn event — I just asked the question if the Ron Paul folks on FR thought this was good idea, and aparently the answer was NO at first, and after further consideration YES... so here we are 500 posts later.. LOL

Was it just me then, because he sounded like a loon during the Republican debate?

I mean, I honestly wasn’t looking to turn on the tube to find a loony candidate, but it seems to be what I saw.

Ron Paul was getting trashed, and I don't think he deserves that in a conservative forum from supposedly conservative posters.

Janet, Dr. Paul is trashed because there are folks out there who don't want to be weaned off the teat of the federal government. Once Paul's elected, their sacred cows are going to be slaughtered, and I for one will fire up the grill and chow down alongside him.

I honestly think Paul will go deep in the primaries and have an impact on whoever's going to be the GOP nominee. Dr. Paul is returning the Republican Party back to its roots, just like Coolidge did in 1922, Goldwater in 1964, and Reagan did in 1980.

These folks can bash Paul all they want, but the truth is that Paul has the GOP by the groin. He can easily entertain a 3rd party candidacy and throw the election to Hillary. Or the GOP will have to be forced to adopt some of his ideas so they won't lose Paul's supporters. I think Dr. Paul is going to have the last laugh here to the chagrin of the party hacks angry that a coalition of Americans are supporting Paul instead of the MSM hand-picked choice.

What the hell?

DO you just blindly flail way or are you really such a “devote” that you missed my little demonstration.

I quoted her, blood for oil, just as said by JG, in direct opposition to your “not on DU/KOS” meme

The intention may not be the same but the words damn sure are.

Shrinking governmnet necesarily involves a non-inteventionist foreign policy. Our current foreign policy is so expensive, that we need the IRS. However, the huge unconstitutional tax system that we currently have is not even enough to pay for it, so we borrow the money — but even that is not enough to pay for it. So, we print money to finance the wars. This unconstitutional federal reserve system of printing money out of thin air causes massive inflation. There is a strong link between foreign policy and economic policy, and that is why I believe Ron Paul is the only real small governmnet conservative in this race.

You must be kidding, saying we went to war for oil is all over the liberal sites.

I will then, repeat MY questions:

Bush is supporting Islam by keeping open borders.

Why send out troops to be hurt abroad when innocent Americans are being taken out at home, by illegals and by terrorists coming through the borders?

What kind of “war on terror” is that?

Let me know when you can find a logical answer.

I did post in this thread that it's a full moon and people sometimes get hotter than they normally might.

You calling me a bot, you letch, is over the line. I try to support the President wherever I can, but I am not a BOT.

I agree with what you said to me 100%. What I said in my post that cutting governemnt will never happen under the mentality in DC now. Except for a select few (Paul being one), most politicians in DC are to drunk on power and spenidng money like crazy.

I agree, Ron Paul has some grea ideas. I agree with him on about 80% of the issues. It's a shame that a so called 'conservative' forum has such hostility towards one of the few real conservatives on the ballot.
