HADITHA HERO- SSgt Frank Wuterich
When choices had to be made..he did not shrink from the decisions. As a high school senior, Frank Wuterich entered the Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program. Frank would become a United States Marine..the Few, the Proud, the Marines. It was a choice he felt he had to make. College would have to wait. Frank felt his country needed him more.
Stationed at Parris Island, SC Sgt Wuterich trained as the war in Iraq passed him by. Frank re-enlisted and was transferred to Camp Pendleton, CA.. There he joined ‘The Thundering Third’- 3rd Battalion, 1st Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Sgt Wuterich’s choice would put him on the fast track to Iraq.
On 19 November 2005, Sgt Frank Wuterich was in command of a four vehicle convoy in Haditha, Iraq. One Marine was killed and two Marines were wounded when an IED destroyed one of the Humvees. Sgt Wuterich chose not to let any more of his Marines die. Wuterich called for reinforcements, set up defensive positions and tended to his wounded while under enemy fire. In the aftermath of this firefight, Sgt Frank Wuterich and two of his Marines were prosecuted for murder.
30 August 2007 SSgt Frank Wuterich will enter a courtroom at Camp Pendleton to defend the choices he made in Haditha. His Marines were not seeking revenge, they were not acting in a blind rage. 3rd platoon, 3/1 Kilo Company followed their rules of engagement and responded to a threat in the best traditions of the Marine Corps. SSgt Frank Wuterich reacted to protect the lives of his Marines.
The Wuterich family is not alone in the defense of their son. When Dave, Rosemarie and Marasole join Frank in the courtroom they will find strength in their new family. A multitude of caring Americans are saying prayers and sending letters in support of SSgt Frank Wuterich. He is a true hero and we will not allow him to be sacrificed for the political agenda of a US Congressman. We will not let the media continue their persecution of Our Haditha Marine. The truth will finally be revealed and the media and politicians will answer for their biased agenda. May God bless and watch over the Wuterich family.

No one "snapped" the proof of that is that so far three have been cleared of all charges and a fourth is awaiting those charges to be dropped and this is the important part in each case the Commanding General didn't just drop the charges he also remarked upon the honor and heroism of each Marine who had been cleared for their part in this battle.
If you had bothered to read what he has said about them, you'd know that these me are heroes.
Snapped????? You must only get your news from the DemocRAT media and John Murtha who believes terrorists and their family members before even listening to what a real marine has to say. That’s a very poor ‘snap’ decision to believe propagandists and liars on your part. Murtha’s been lying for his political agenda about this case from day one. Do you remember Murtha saying there was no IED. F’ing liar!!! I’d say Murtha’s the one that ‘snapped’! Please expand your news sources so you can get a glimpse at the truth of things instead of nothing but lies.

Another Marine suffered much with a broken back and pelvis.
And the rest of these Marines?
They suffered unbelievable torment.
It's probably a good thing you weren't with these Marines that day. You might have gotten them in trouble by acting before thinking. They came home alive. You probably wouldn't have.
You need to stop typing on this thread. You know naught of which you speak.
While we have those on FR who criticize the boot camp training of the Marine Corps...if a recruit can’t handle the training in boot camp; they sure as hell couldn’t handle the hell in Iraq or Afghanistan!

Put the comic books away. These HEROES are not issued a cape and green tights. Hero is a title of appreciation. By your post, you don't seem to appreciate what they did and understand what they are still going through.

Do yourself and the rest of us a favor and don’t post on any more Haditha Marine threads until you avail yourself of the facts that have come out in the hearings that have taken place up to now. You won’t expose your ignorance again if you do.
