LOL
Now you’re talking. I bet this one will get snagged, alot!
Will the competition be televised?
Look at the top of the ping page and there should be a link to GOE.
Second Street and Broadway
Sitting in a door way
Head held in his hands
Looked to all the world like he was praying
Foot wrapped in an old rag
Bottle in a brown bag
I saw him try to stand
Then I heard the words that he was saying
He said come on Carrie, carry me a little farther
Come on Carrie, carry me one more mile
I don't know where it's leading to
But I know I can make it if I lean on you
So come on Carrie, carry me a little
I carried you, now carry me a little
Come on Carrie, carry me a little while
Well he struggled to his feet
And staggered down the street
To the window of the five-and-dime
He stood and laughed a while at his reflection
And then I heard him shoutin'
Something about a mountain
He could surely climb, if she was only there to point the right direction
But she ain't no, no ain't no
He said come on Carrie, carry me a little farther
Come on Carrie, carry me one more mile
I don't know where it's leading to
But I know I can make it if I lean on you
So come on Carrie, carry me a little
I carried you, now carry me a little
Come on Carrie, carry me a little while......
thanks fatima. I still have a crush on Todd Rundgren!!
She's the queen of the Silver Dollar, and she rules this smokey kingdom
And her sceptre is a wine glass and a bar-stool is her throne
And the jesters, they flock around her, and they fight to win her favors
And see which one will take the queen of the Silver Dollar home
She arrives in all her splendour every night at nine o'clock
And her chariot is a cross-town bus that stops right down the block
The ol' piano minstrel plays a song as she walks in
And the queen of the Silver Dollar, she's home again
She's the queen of the Silver Dollar, and she rules this smokey kingdom
And her sceptre is a wine glass and a bar-stool is her throne
And the jesters flock around her, and fight to win her favors
And see which one will take the queen of the Silver Dollar home
Her royal gown is a satin dress, that's stained and slightly torn
And her sparkling jewels are rhinestones, and her shoes are scuffed and worn
From the many roads she's travelled and the wonderous sights she's seen
And I watch her and I pray God save the queen
She's the queen of the Silver Dollar, and she rules this smokey kingdom
And her sceptre is a wine glass and a bar-stool is her throne
And the jesters flock around her, and fight to win her favors
And see which one will take the queen of the Silver Dollar home
The queen of the Silver Dollar is not as haughty as she seems
She was once an ordinary girl with ordinary dreams
But I found her and I won her, and I brought her to this world
Yes I'm the man who made a queen of a simple country girl
She's the queen of the Silver Dollar, and she rules this smokey kingdom
And her sceptre is a wine glass and a bar-stool is her throne
And the jesters flock around her, and fight to win her favors
And see which one will take the queen of the Silver Dollar home
She's the queen of the Silver Dollar, and she rules this smokey kingdom.......
great song, and I loved the movie with kevin spacey.
The final round is televised in a webcast and on the Pentagon Channel.
I didn't say, "Don't do it babe" when she packed up to go
I didn't say "Come back here honey and try with me once more"
And when she asked me if I loved her, I just turned away
She's gone and now I'm hearing all the things I didn't say
I didn't say "I'm sorry babe, 'cause half the fault was mine"
I didn't say "We'll work it out, 'cause all we need is love and faith and time"
I said "If that's the way you want it, I won't stand in your way"
She's gone and now I'm hearing all the things I didn't say
I didn't take her in my arms and kiss away her tears
I didn't say "My life don't mean a thing if you ain't here"
I thought of all the many games I'd be free to play
But all I do is listen to the things I didn't say
I didn't say "Take off your coat, I'll make some coffee and a talk"
I didn't say "The motorway is such a long and lonely, endless walk"
I said "Goodbye, good luck and God bless you", then she walked away
And left me here to live with all the things I didn't say
And now I guess she'll never hear the things I didn't say
Mornin’ sweetie!
Yep, gettin’ plenty of rain and tornado warnings and too warm for my comfort.
Hope you’re having a happy day!!! :)
((hugs))
Thank goodness I have never lived where they have tornadoes....stay safe!
WooHoo! I’ll be listening for the different news reports.
fatima.....#250 and #400!!
barker.....#300!!
E.....#350!!
These two are so bad that they always make me laugh...just the opposite of the reaction they are aiming for. No matter how hard I try, I can’t forget ‘Teen Angel’ and ‘Leader of the Pack’. LOL.
Good afternoon, beachy...((HUGS)) It's almost here...only one more day.
Anything by Weird Al has a pretty good story behind it.
Yep, their playing styles really fit together well. There's a clip of Layla on YouTube as well - the slow "Unplugged" version, with Clapton on the acoustic guitar and Knopfler on the electric. Mark's collaborations with Chet Atkins are very nice too, if you like pure instrumental work.
Chet was the technical master of the 6-string, but Knopfler's playing has an almost vocal quality to it.
Thanks, Mayor, for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
