Text: "WE ARE ALL ELVIRA" Campaign Created Soon After Arrest of The Mexican"
Original Title: ("Crean campaña "Todos somos Elvira", luego del arresto de la mexicana.")
Radio Formula,
Monday, 20 of August of 2007
After this Sunday's arrest of the immigrant of Michoacan-origin, Elvira Arellano, who had taken refuge for more than a year in a Methodist church of the city of Chicago, a campaign in anger against the deportation of the Mexican, called "We Are All Elvira" has been started.
While Elvira traveled in a car to L.A. and was arrested by the police in Los Angeles, while she was to visit four church-sanctuaries of Los Angeles, she was stopped during arrangements of her to travel north to San Jose, in northern California.
President of the people's Center Without Borders who is also the wife of Rev. Walter Coleman, of the Methodist church of Chicago, affirmed that Elvira "is calm and with the force is continuing to fight and will return". "She has requested we take care of Saulito, her son (who has the American nationality) and is what we are doing, I already said to her that he is in very good hands and that one does not worry".
After the arrest of the Michoacana it has been decided to initiate the mobilization campaign "We Are All Elvira", and a call in all Chicago, New York and other states in the United States to follow ahead and to obtain the legalization of all the immigrants.
According to the previous plans of Elvira Arellano, September 12th she would travel to Washington, to make a long wait in front of the Congress of the United States to request that review of the initiative on immigration reforms.
Lozano declared that "on that day, September 12, which she cannot attend we are going over there to request that they support to us with national work stoppage. On that day in the U.S., that nobody goes to the school, to their place of work, that they do not buy anything and that helps us with their speaking out so that we obtain the legalization of 12 million undocumented people in this country".
(END OF TRANSLATION)
It goes without saying that this story is the number one story in most Mexican newspapers and radio stories.
(Translation note): "Undocumented" and "immigrant" are common euphemisms used by those who favor amnesty of illegal aliens, to refer to illegal immigration.
I was hoping that the article was referring to Cassandra Peterson. I guess my age is showing.
Why am I suddenly hearing “Giddy up giddy up Giddy up a maw maw” running through my head?
And seeing what Elvira wore on that old TV program, I know for sure I’m not her.
Maybe DFU can do us a favor and rewrite the words to “Elvira” by the Oak Ridge Boys—but I think Doug may be busy these days.....
You aren’t the only one
Ms. Peterson... white courtesy phone, Ms. Peterson white phone please.
More proof positive that illegal aliens are the dumbest from their countries.
If they are all “Elvira” then they should also be all “DEPORTED”.
I wish.
I was chuckling to myself over that, even before I had finished the translation! lol
So they admit to 12 million “undocumented workers”?
“Lozano declared that “on that day, September 12, which she cannot attend we are going over there to request that they support to us with national work stoppage. On that day in the U.S., that nobody goes to the school, to their place of work, that they do not buy anything and that helps us with their speaking out so that we obtain the legalization of 12 million undocumented people in this country”.
Does this mean they won’t be at work or shopping or school on 9/12?
“We Are All Elvira”...
Not me! I never crossed a border illegally or stole anyone’s SSN!
May the force be with her.
Hmmmm....... A protest day on 9/12? I was reading DUmmie Funnies this morning that was poking fun at a DUmmie thread calling for a national day of protest on 9/11. So there will be two days in a row of a few hundred protestors gathering hither and yon, attracting little notice and having no impact on anything whatsoever. One thing I noticed today was the lack of mention of this womans deportation on sites like Huffington Post, Daily Kos, and of course DU. I have learned that they really do not like to talk about illegal immigrants very much because of the negative comments they get even from their own on the topic.
cannot disagree with you. correcto!
