It was time for her to go inside, with all the satellites on the roofs and such. She was genuinely frightened.

Not sure, need a few more frames for perspective.

That’s what I was afraid of. Was hoping it might have been shadows. :)

beautiful storm... anticyclone is very mature, it’s really cool to see the high clouds stream off like they are... once sun sets I will put together some sort of loop of the evening.

Too bad Buoy 42057 was never replaced. Dean looks like it will cut right between buoys 42057 and 42056 on the way to the Yucatan Pen.
Buoy 42056 is way west of the Caymans and remains stable since this AM. Winds about 11Ks and seas about 3 feet.

As you say it depends.
The first winds would have been coming over the hotel from the land. Now that the eye has moved west the tail end winds would now be coming in from the ocean.
If she had a nice ocean view room the winds would be blowing right in her balcony door about now.

Steve WHOOOOAH! Harrigan has landed in the Yucatan Peninsula. He’s interviewing stubborn tourists who—by golly—paid for their dream vacations in nice hotels. Come hell or high water, they are staying put.

Even more, it’s incredibly thoughtless to demand that locals look after stubborn tourists during a calamity. When the booze is no longer served, glass is flying, and the a/c is out, those self centered folks are in for a rude awakening.

Earlier she said that there was a lot of "unsurety" about the storm's path. A brain surgeon, fur shurr....
