Ed Meese, former attorney general under Ronald Reagan and Judith Reisman, noted author and scholar kick off "FamilyFragments.com" a website dedicated to fighting pornogrpahy.
Sounds like you are worrying about not having easy access to your addictions.
The liberaltarians (who mistakenly believe they belong on a conservative forum because they are for lower taxes and support the Second Amendment) see ANYTHING that threatens their hedonism as "government interference." They lack even the most basic understanding of the Constitution as evidenced by their belief that "limited government" actually means no government. In short, they are anarchists at heart.
And very few people have actually read the former. Lots of people claim that they have and like to discuss it with others who claim that they have, but it's generally elitist sophistry.
but the .ca mirror is active I believe

Very short sighted anarchists, I submit, because tyranny follows quickly on the heels of anarchy.
The SCOTUS would apparently dissagree....
may I offer you a glass of ...
Campari?
The gentleman in your tagline would tend to disagree w/ you...
"If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism... The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is... I stand on my statement that I think that libertarianism and conservatism are travelling the same path." - Ronald Wilson Reagan
If Islamofascists were using the Internet to advocate, plan, share information, and collaborate on acts of danger to your city, you would not, I think, allow them to use the shield of free speech, or say that suppressing their criminal activities was offensive to American liberties.
If you don't want your little children to be stalked, molested, and raped, you have to take legal action, bringing the sex sickoes before a jury which will convict only if they are convinced by evidence of responsibility and harm.
That's not welfarism/nannystatism. It's civil liability and criminal enforcement. And what are you talking about, Steve McKing: you don't mind sexual competition for your children?
Very true. Those on the left NEVER have been able to consider the long-term consequences of their goals, that is why EVERY leftist revolution in history has been followed by mass killing of innocent people.
The porn pirates won’t like this. Porn is the freedom they cherish above all others.
BS. I have rarely heard Libertarians speak about guns or taxes. Drugs and porn are their bread and butter.
Will you read the article, for heaven's sake. This is not about you and the missus seeing an explicit recorded romp. This is about stuff that's pure poison, training videos for predation, as well as conspiracy by pedophiles.
I hae a particular sense of solidarity wih Dr. Reisman, whose daughter--- who was 10 at the time --- was sexually abused.
Hence my use of the term liberaltarians, which describes people who are generally liberal at heart, but desire lower taxes and support the Second Amendment.
Ronald Reagan clearly did not believe in the agenda the many of the self-described libertarians on FR do as evidenced by his support of the war on drugs and opposition to abortion.
That picture makes a particularly good point. It’s classic, it’s beautiful, it’s good ole boys fighting WWII for the sake of their wives and girlfriends.....but she’s nekid!!!
The liberaltarians on FR bring up guns and taxes to try to prove that they belong on a conservative forum.
One recent survey by a Washington-based research council concluded that Americans were far more religious than the people of other nations; 95 percent of those surveyed expressed a belief in God and a huge majority believed the Ten Commandments had real meaning in their lives. And another study has found that an overwhelming majority of Americans disapprove of adultery, teenage sex, pornography, abortion, and hard drugs. And this same study showed a deep reverence for the importance of family ties and religious belief.
I think the items that we've discussed here today must be a key part of the nation's political agenda. For the first time the Congress is openly and seriously debating and dealing with the prayer and abortion issues and that's enormous progress right there. I repeat: America is in the midst of a spiritual awakening and a moral renewal. And with your biblical keynote, I say today, "Yes, let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream."
Now, obviously, much of this new political and social consensus I've talked about is based on a positive view of American history, one that takes pride in our country's accomplishments and record. But we must never forget that no government schemes are going to perfect man. We know that living in this world means dealing with what philosophers would call the phenomenology of evil or, as theologians would put it, the doctrine of sin.
There is sin and evil in the world, and we're enjoined by Scripture and the Lord Jesus to oppose it with all our might. Our nation, too, has a legacy of evil with which it must deal. The glory of this land has been its capacity for transcending the moral evils of our past. For example, the long struggle of minority citizens for equal rights, once a source of disunity and civil war is now a point of pride for all Americans. We must never go back. There is no room for racism, anti-Semitism, or other forms of ethnic and racial hatred in this country.
I know that you've been horrified, as have I, by the resurgence of some hate groups preaching bigotry and prejudice. Use the mighty voice of your pulpits and the powerful standing of your churches to denounce and isolate these hate groups in our midst. The commandment given us is clear and simple: "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."
But whatever sad episodes exist in our past, any objective observer must hold a positive view of American history, a history that has been the story of hopes fulfilled and dreams made into reality. Especially in this century, America has kept alight the torch of freedom, but not just for ourselves but for millions of others around the world.
I've learned to be ok with things I can't do anything about. *shrug* But I and others like me have done a good job preventing that from ever happening. I've taught every girl I've dated how to shoot a gun, take friends to the range, and educate all on the importance of the right to self-defense. They, in turn, join the NRA and scare the Ds and RINOs from trying to reverse their civil-litigation exemption.
Like I said - good luck doing the same with your friends and family by introducing them to your porn addiction and explaining why it deserves equal protection.
The argument that “porn doesn’t hurt anyone” sounds just like the “illegal immigration doesn’t hurt anyone” argument.
These are not the droids you are looking for.
More normal liberty-oriented Rs are members of the Liberty Caucus.
The people who say, “porn (or drugs, prostitution, etc.) doesn’t hurt anyone,” really mean that it hasn’t yet hurt THEM. They ignore that Constitution’s desire to “promote the general welfare” and instead focus on their own personal desires.
