Duncan Hunter's Iowa Straw Poll speech.
Your quote is just wrong. ‘Moderates’ do exist. Ever heard of the term ‘lukewarm’? Or a fiscal conservative/social liberal?
Rudy couldn’t have bought Iowa if he tried.......he ran rabbit ticket as he knows he is toast with real voters vs his pandering to paid polidiot pollsters numbers and the MSM voting booth......
Thanks for posting the numbers for us ......Stay safe !
“Moderate” = a LIEberal, same as a DUmocrat. It’s LIMBAUGH’S quote, FYI.
Spoken like a sore loser....
Considering the general electorate that's not saying much is it? They vote with their hearts instead of their minds. And frankly starting a protectionist war against a nation that you're borrowing almost $3 billion a day to float ridiculous domestic and foreign policies from isn't that intelligent either.
So why is it that Duncan Hunter came in next to last, beating only the fake candidate Cox?
Hunter participated in the Straw Poll and was still beat by all the guys who didn’t. This Straw Poll was the one-percenters one and only time in the sun, and Duncan still couldn’t break 1%. He was trounced by Tancredo, even. So what gives?
But Horton never gave up. Didn’t they end up listening to him eventually and hear the Whos?
I do know what you mean! It seems like Duncan Hunter is the best kept secret of all time!
HUnter is not gone. He has already stated that he won’t drop out no matter the results today.
How many busloads of supporters did Hunter bring in and pay for their tickets? I believe the number was 38 busses for Romney, fortunately the Paul voters didn’t infiltrate in the numbers they promised.
Hopefully that won’t happen(dem in the WH.) Gotta keep plugging away and hope for the best. As long as Hunter fights on, I will be right there with him.
I don’t relish the thought of a lesser republican being elected.
We have little to lose as China is already cheeting us on trade. They will protest but there is little of substance that they can do as their economy is much more dependant on our market than our economy is on theirs. Ultimately, it does make a lot more sense to protect our domestic industry than to outsource our manufacturing to a country that is likely to become our main adversary in the 21st century. The corporate fat cats won’t like it but it will be good for the country.
Limbaugh's great, but he's not God.
I am having a difficult time, squaring tonights results with the results of the vote taken in St.Louis at the gathering of Republican assemblies (remember the Republican wing of the Republican Party), where Hunter missed getting 2/3 of the vote by 2%, over Fred Thompson. Two and two are not coming out to four.
Problem is, even if this process is not reflective of the way people are feeling, it is going to be treated as if it were. I too, am disappointed in the turnout for Hunter. Romney sure knows how to go about his business, but I don’t think of the government as a business, though sometimes I wish it was run like one.
I am going to soldier on with the rest of you. Talk to you later.
Nice post! I sure would love to see some real history being made for a change by electing Hunter. Watching the Republican party make the same mistakes over and over again gets real tiring. The insiders seem to love it as they are the main beneficiaries of rinoism.
That’s what I wondered to.
Ultimately, I just think it has to do with time. Hunter focused on Iowa much later that Romney/Paul/Tancredo/T. Thompson. Hunter put a lot of his effort into other early primary states like SC and NH.
I like his showing in the NFRA poll though.
However, I’m concerned by Huckabee’s good showing. His unconservative record as governor is why.
Hunter’s performance in a conservative vanity poll was pretty horrid.
Thinking people know that, mind-numbed activists will clue in a little later. Some FReepers, never.

Instead of waiting on Fred Thompson, allowing the media to push the moderates as the best bet, I've thrown my support behind Hunter.
When and if Thompson jumps in, I'd love to see both of them running on the same ticket.
