Duncan Hunter's Iowa Straw Poll speech.
I also can’t figure out why Duncan isn’t up there. He still is my favorite. I think it shows how far off base the corrupt “Two-Party Cartel” is including the pubbies & their socialist agenda.
You all seem a little down tonight. Or am I all wet?:) Hunter gave a great speech today and I noticed a lot of favorable comments from people who weren’t in his camp yet.
I’ll second that!
I just don’t believe a RINO can win either. Conservatives are in a foul mood and aren’t going to just go along only to hear “You knew what you were getting when you voted for him” 5 years from now.
Thanks for posting the videos....I missed it earlier. It will be hard to stay up till 2a.m. for the replay, but I do have the recorder set!
I’m not down. No reason to be because I know that at the end of the race my conscience will be clear even if there is a democrat in the white house.
A RINO can’t win, fairly. Which is why all the dirty tricks are being played. The only way a RINO can win is from the popular vote.
Wait, you mean Paul trounced Hunter?
Yes I agree that it’s a worthless “pay-for” poll but Hunter should have done much better with the activists.
Can't vote for a LIEberal...even if they have an "R" next to their name.
bump
>DH just finished 9th — but we’re not finished yet.<
No. Very disappointing. Did they say where Ron Paul fell?

Looking back at 1999......
Candidate | Votes | Percentage |
---|---|---|
George W. Bush | 7418 | 31% |
Steve Forbes | 4921 | 21% |
Elizabeth Dole | 3410 | 14% |
Gary Bauer | 2114 | 9% |
Patrick Buchanan | 1719 | 7% |
Lamar Alexander | 1428 | 6% |
Alan Keyes | 1101 | 5% |
Dan Quayle | 916 | 4% |
Orrin Hatch | 558 | 2% |
You think it might be he's preaching protectionism? Granted that's what the original Republicans advocated but most Republicans are for more trade not less. Hunter's gone, Thompson's gone, and from what I read even though he did somewhat well in the straw poll Brownback may be gone.
If Hunter can’t do better in a vanity poll, he hasn’t a tinker’s chance in a real one.
Good guy, pathetic campaign.
Hunter’s position on Trade has probably cost him some money from big business donors. However, I think that many if not most American’s would agree with Hunter on trade. There are a small portion of Republican’s who worship free trade but most people recognize that the current system is hurting bad for America. Instead, I think the problem has been with some of Duncan Hunters campaign management. Hunter is great and I am going to continue to support him. However, he should consider making some changes in his campaign staff.
Just do what is right, according to absolutes and without regard to what is popular at the moment.
One thing I want to research is how many presidents prior to Bill Clinton had zero military experience. Then we can pose the question, Is this trend a helpful one for America? Ditto for serial adulterers/fornicators, etc. Regardless of politics, what character of man has historically held the office?
I believe Hunter fits the historical mold. Romney's statement that it is more patriotic for his sons to help him become president smugly assumes that Romney is the embodiment of patriotism - as though his election is the best and most important thing for America. In his mind, no doubt, it is... But that in itself bespeaks a stronger allegiance to self interest than to the national interest.
Honestly, the Diebold machines make this the most doubtful Straw Poll in history.
