Lucky you then. In the San Fernando Valley it was a build-up side to side shake then up and down motion over and over and over. I held on to my chair and computer.

It was loud.

Really? I miss those babies :-)

I lived through the ‘71, ‘86, ‘94 and a few others. Most of the time in the Valley. (though I was only a baby during the ‘71 :-)). When I bought this house in 1999, the geologist told me I wouldn’t be bothered by quakes up here, because the whole development is on a granite hill. We’re on the eastern side of Laurel Canyon, south of Mulholland.

Glad you and everyone is safe, if a little rattled. That ‘94 quake was a big menace, I don’t want to have to deal with that kind of mess again.

I live in the N.E. San Fernando Valley and didn’t feel a thing. Dog didn’t bark, cats didn’t run. In fact the dogs in the neighborhood didn’t bark.
