Really? I miss those babies :-)
I lived through the ‘71, ‘86, ‘94 and a few others. Most of the time in the Valley. (though I was only a baby during the ‘71 :-)). When I bought this house in 1999, the geologist told me I wouldn’t be bothered by quakes up here, because the whole development is on a granite hill. We’re on the eastern side of Laurel Canyon, south of Mulholland.
Glad you and everyone is safe, if a little rattled. That ‘94 quake was a big menace, I don’t want to have to deal with that kind of mess again.
I was in Sherman Oaks in the 94 quake. Now I'm South of Northridge. This was surprisingly rough for such a small quake. I'm still a bit rattled, lol. Nothing fell but the neighborhood is all awake.
Then you are on solid ground it sounds like and that’s good.
The only problem with being in the hills is access. Right after the 94 quake when I was able to crawl over all the stuff that fell and get outside, I looked up into the hills and counted several fires. They were still burning at least an hour later and you could hear sirens but the Fire Dept. couldn’t get close enough.
Batten down your hatches and stay safe!
Now living in Texas. Take care, SFV.
