Just had a nice little jolt here in the L.A. area!
Not enough to wake the kid, but my dogs are pretty bent. More info in a few minutes. (USGS takes a few minutes to update.)
I’m on the couch were I generally feel them pretty well.
Didn’t feel a thing in Glendale. Others may have.
If the Republicans hadn’t been so cheap with the money, this wouldn’t have happened. Has FEMA started handing out $2,000 pre-paid credit cards to everybody yet? Rove did this with his weather machine. You’re going to lose an eye. Etc.
I felt it pretty well here in Woodland Hills.
Where is Hal Fishman when you need him?
Regards
Perhaps it was on that Northridge fault that gave way years ago and ran south. Thanks for the report.
I didn’t feel it either, am in Riveriside County
Thanks Theresa.
My friend just text messaged me...he fell out of bed from it...lol...his dogs are going nuts. I would figure they would be used to it by now since the move there 7 yrs ago.
Is it just me or does it seem like we are on the verge of a pretty big one in Cali soon? There have been some real doozies on the pacific rim recently..especially in Asia.
It felt like a typical Northridge aftershock. They have a distinctive signature as experienced here.
Remember the Whittier Narrows, the Northridge and earthquake in the desert series ending about twelve years ago? At the time I was designated to attent the Emergency Preparedness meetings in Glendale. During those meetings the city officer told us what the consensus was for the region. At the time, after the series, he stated that the accepted opinion after careful study was that we were going to have a 6.5 level earthquake about every two years for the next ten.
Well, it’s been twelve years and nada. It would be silly of me to state that we have one smidgen of an idea when the next one will strike, even if it were just two minutes from now.
Nobody knows. If they say they do, get a second opinion.
Take care.
There we have it, the expert opinion of the man on the street. Well if not on the street now, who knows...
I appreciate the report. You take care. Thanks.
Don’t be silly, every one knows that Halliburton has the weather machine.
You sure you should drink this stuff so early in the mornin'?
Did Rosie fall out of bed?
For me:
1971 Sylmar 6.6
1987 Whittier Narrows 5.9
1994 Northridge 6.7
great memories
