A great FReeper and close friend passed. Twit, also known as Timothy Wheeler passed on. In tribute, I would like to make this the August thread of Terri Dailies, the topic foremost in Twit thoughts.
Tim was a man of great faith, a faith that grew stronger especially in recent months. As I type this, I still am not yet coherent, as I try to awaken and sip a good coffee brought to me recently by Tim. In his usual fashion, he probably figured I would appreciate a little care package and would appreciate the better quality than the usual fare we would fix.
But I do not want this thread to be maudlin, nor a reminiscing on anecdotes, rather a stab at what Tim would want.
Twit was passionate about the beauty of nature, of good books, good music, and intellectual challenge, but mostly he was passionate about his love for our America, for Jim Robinsons FreeRepublic, and for our fight for those in the plight of Terri Schiavo. For the latter, he sought justice and fervently hoped and prayed we on Terris List would carry on this battle against the evils of those who would control who lived and died.
In our many talks, he would sound like a poster boy for all the stated position of Jim Robinson.
His wife told me last evening the final thoughts he had. As can be expected, it was for us to continue our fight as we have done already. She hoped that rather than flowers or donations sent, that donations be directed at causes like that supporting Terris Legacy, the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation. In this way, we remember him and further his wishes. Twit and I talked a lot about faith and I can reassure all, his faith in Our Lord was strong and growing stronger, a comfort to me that he carried it to the end.
My words come out with difficulty this morning, but should flow better later, although without the word play and banter we would sometimes engage, at least for now. Twit would be upset if I quit the puns for long, though.
We will continue our prayers for T'wit and his wife and family.

One of FR’s most ardent and eloquent defenders of life has died.
Not wishing it on anyone, but one would hope he'd have a change of heart if it were his child.
When did those students stand in front of Woodside in Pinellas Park with a banner no less?
I must say though, that I don't think Bobby is corruptible like run of the mill politicians. But, t'wit's not here to reply back so let's just let it go at that.
Good morning, FV.
I don’t remember them specifically, but do remember groups coming in for a while, doing their thing, and then leaving. Some were really passionate but couldn’t stay long although they may have traveled quite a bit.
Now that I look again, I do not see the snow fences up, so maybe it was fairly early. The banner looks very well made, so somebody would remember it, I think.
T’wit and I were talking during that time about how power corrupts nearly anyone, even some of the best and how few survive that filter. He saw it as a frightening peril to any who tried. I pointed out some did weather it, those of very strong faith, and I thought Bobby would be able to weather it, too. We had differences of opinion just slightly. He was so admiring of Bobby, he didn’t want Bobby hurt.
Where we agreed, we thought Bobby had a date with destiny in some way or another, whether politics or another role. He must be listening to his muse or guardian angel and is moving right along.
We can pray that he safely weathers the perils sure to cross his path as certainly as trolls appear here.
50,000 bucks? I don’t blame the students for being angry. I hope the allumni is paying attention to this gross misapropriation of funds.
IMO,Glenn Beck now w/CNN, toned down his rhetoric for the 2nd vigil due to market forces and maybe he was already talkin to CNN. He toned it way down but he did attend the Gulfport Mass and talked about attending Terri's mass on his radio show.
He described seeing me at Terri's Mass on the radio. I was just one of many grieving folks at the Mass but as you may have discovered, I have this aura thing and well, I guess I'm stuck with it. Seriesly.
Thank you for posting this. Prayers are up for him and his family. He was a super person.
Thank you.... T’wit would have been pleased and honored at your recognition. He remembered well, as we try to.

Jack K. is one evil man. He even looks evil.
And a horrible murder at that. I naively believed the Bush brothers would save her. And Greer sill on the bench in spite of all his perversions.

"We will not be silent. We are your bad conscience. The White Rose will give you no rest."
Yeah, he said it.
I don't know if he meant it to be smart, he is just proud of the fact that the door is opening to bump more people off. As you may know, Felos served on the board of directors of the Hospice of Florida Suncoast, the corporation which operates the Woodside Hospice.
Theresa Marie Schindler Terri has touched the lives of millions of people throughout the entire world. For a woman who was unable to speak or permitted to appear publicly for more than a third of her short life, she had the most profound effect on people all over the world. She has opened the eyes of the world bringing awareness to the importance of our end of life wishes. |

“I naively believed the Bush brothers would save her.”
Me too. They don’t have enough courage. Hope we get a conservative in the White House, and other offices, who have the courage of their pro-life conservatism.
Lots of people were just confidently expecting Jeb to come through at the end, just to follow through and do the right and proper thing, and instead got a door slammed and stony silence.
Say it ain’t so, Jeb.
Somebody snatched defeat from the jaws of victory at the very last moment. Somebody let Terri die when she could easily have been saved. Somebody separated faith from politics. Who was that, Jeb? Please speak louder. I didn't hear well enough how Catholic you are in practice. Tell us all the story of Pontius Pilate and how it fit with the Easter sacrifice of Terri.
...................................
ATLANTA, Georgia, August 9, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Republican governor of Florida, Jeb Bush, brother of President George Bush, described his "faith journey" to audiences at a Catholic conference this summer, emphasizing that faith and politics should not be separated.
The devout Catholic and pro-life politician received a standing ovation from a crowd of families, children, priests and young people before he even began his speech at the 11th Youth and Family Encounter conference at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The event was sponsored this July by the international Catholic lay movement Regnum Christi.
He underlined the fact that leaders should not separate their faith from their political careers. "I don't know how one can do that," he said. "As governor I didn't do that. I tried not to."
"I don't think you can separate your personal faith from your public actions, and I don't think you need to. I think transparent, openly expressing your faith is a good thing."

Jeb Bush was closely involved in the case of Terri Schiavo in 2004 as governor of Florida. Putting his own words into practice, Bush signed Terri's law - a move approved by the State legislature - that would remove her from her husband's authority and thereby protect her life. Bush also appealed the Supreme Court to change its mind when it struck down the law (see http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2004/oct/04100602.html).
