A great FReeper and close friend passed. T’wit, also known as Timothy Wheeler passed on. In tribute, I would like to make this the August thread of Terri Dailies, the topic foremost in T’wit thoughts.

Tim was a man of great faith, a faith that grew stronger especially in recent months. As I type this, I still am not yet coherent, as I try to awaken and sip a good coffee brought to me recently by Tim. In his usual fashion, he probably figured I would appreciate a little care package and would appreciate the better quality than the usual fare we would fix.

But I do not want this thread to be maudlin, nor a reminiscing on anecdotes, rather a stab at what Tim would want.

T’wit was passionate about the beauty of nature, of good books, good music, and intellectual challenge, but mostly he was passionate about his love for our America, for Jim Robinson’s FreeRepublic, and for our fight for those in the plight of Terri Schiavo. For the latter, he sought justice and fervently hoped and prayed we on Terri’s List would carry on this battle against the evils of those who would control who lived and died.

In our many talks, he would sound like a poster boy for all the stated position of Jim Robinson.

His wife told me last evening the final thoughts he had. As can be expected, it was for us to continue our fight as we have done already. She hoped that rather than flowers or donations sent, that donations be directed at causes like that supporting Terri’s Legacy, the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation. In this way, we remember him and further his wishes. T’wit and I talked a lot about faith and I can reassure all, his faith in Our Lord was strong and growing stronger, a comfort to me that he carried it to the end.

My words come out with difficulty this morning, but should flow better later, although without the word play and banter we would sometimes engage, at least for now. T’wit would be upset if I quit the puns for long, though.

We will continue our prayers for T'wit and his wife and family.

Good advice - wise owl. :) It was truly a rough ride and your bf did the right thing. Yes, Tim, Terri, dad and all our loved ones that believed and lived God’s Word are celebrating now. Despite all the pain and sorrow, we have the blessed hope. Our faith is truly a blessing.

Yet, at one small college in Virginia, for almost three decades now, students have woken up as early as 6:30am every single Saturday morning when school is in session, to attend 7:00 Mass and then travel the hour and fifteen minutes to the Planned Parenthood clinic in Washington D.C.  Rain, shine, snow, sleet, or hail, dozens of students from Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia are found at the Clinic by 9:00 Saturday morning, praying and counseling women who have appointments to abort their unborn children. Only in the most extreme weather, when it has been absolutely impossible to make the trip into D.C., have the students canceled this weekly love effort.

And indeed, said Kujawski, Shield of Roses has, by all accounts, saved more than a few lives. In the last several years alone, due to the direct efforts of the group's counselors, at least several women have turned away from Planned Parenthood, and decided not to have abortions. Wow, some are not happy with serial killer Dr. Death coming to haunt! Especially, it is irritating because guess who picks up the tab. I am puzzled and maybe someone can help out. Is it University of Florida, (UF) or Florida University, (FU)?

On October 11, 2007 Dr. Jack Kevorkian will speak at the University of Florida. His resume includes at least 130 assisted suicides, several notable writings, and an eight year stint in prison (out of the 10-25 years sentenced for second-degree murder in the 1998 poisoning of Thomas Youk). Kevorkian accepted my school's offer by ACCENT, which is the largest student-run speaker's bureau in the nation, as well as a Student Government agency.

Therefore, his $50,000 honorarium is subsidized by taxpayer dollars. Kevorkian's UF stop will probably be his first paid public speaking engagement since his June 1 release from prison, according to Kevorkian's lawyer Mayer Morganroth. "They were actually the first ones to call," Morganroth said of ACCENT. "They sent the request almost immediately after he was out."

Terri Schiavo was euthanized in Pinellas Park, Florida on the order of Pinellas County Court Judge George Greer, a UF alum. Bioethicist Bill Allen teaches here, who said in an interview that he believed Terri Schiavo was not a person (Terri's Foundation already has an email petition setup to oppose Kevorkian's appearance at Florida). The verdict is in: UF does not value life, and espouses the "Culture of Death" Pope John Paul II warned of. How sad we no longer expect anything else from our public universities.

The journey to reform Texas’ Futile Care Law, Texas Right to Life’s number one priority for the 80th Texas Legislative Session, was a challenging and often embittered battle that ended in a disappointing stalemate in the House.

However, the efforts of hundreds of activists, including families whose ailing loved ones were victims of the law and the attorneys and doctors who offered benevolent services to the patients, were not in vain. The statewide and national awareness provoked by this battle will not be forgotten by Texas legislators and the citizens they represent. The end of life euthanasia war has only just begun.

The San Luis Obispo County district attorney's office accused Dr. Hootan Roozrokh, 33, of dependent adult abuse, administering a harmful substance and prescribing an unlawful controlled substance without legitimate medical purpose. The surgeon allegedly ordered massive amounts of narcotic painkillers and sedatives for Ruben Navarro, a physically and mentally disabled man, "to accelerate Mr. Navarro's death," according to a written release from the district attorney. In addition, Roozrokh is accused of administering Betadine, a topical antiseptic, into Navarro's stomach.
