This morning only a couple of minutes before 5am, I was surfing around when I came upon Fox News. Bill O'Reilly was closing out his show with him reading off a few viewers emails and him giving a small response to each one. One of them defended FreeRepublic, saying that doing a search, Daily Kos had thousands of certain cuss words, and FR had none. O'Reilly's response to that was: "FreeRepublic Needs A Monitor. It Has None." (And then he moved on to another email)
"..Alan Novak, Wichita, KS: "Comparing the Free Republic to the Daily Kos, I searched the F-word. Daily Kos, almost seven thousand mentions. Free Republic, none.""
I did think his attack was a bit over the top. FR is, for the most part, self regulating. Do things get by the moderators, certainly. But anything that is clearly against the rules/guidelines is usually removed at some point. And the point is a lot sooner than many other sites. As for the general tone of FR, notice how most (and I mean an overwhelming majority) people have no need to throw in explatives to make or draw attention to their point.
If your managers are PC, all they need to find out is that FR is a conservative discussion forum. For the PC, conservative=hate. They don't need a putz like O'Reilly to tell them anything.
Why does O’Reilly insist on shutting up good citizens? I bet it’s not the few inappropriate posts he wants to monitor, I bet you anything he just wants to stop people from talking, period. Anyone who makes that big of issue of needing a full time monitor is really interested in just shutting people up who he doesn’t agree with. He should be patient, unfortunately, if his candidate, Hillary Clinton gets elected, he will get his way. He has made a mistake being so critical and unfair and he won’t admit it, what a jerk.
“Unfortunately, he didnt give Kristinn a chance to explain.”
Bill ran right over Kristinn, that’s so unfortunate, because it was so unfair the way Bill conducted himself. That’s part of the reason I now see Bill as being a jerk, because he clearly wasn’t intersted in getting to the truth, he just was acting like a craggy old man. It was disgusting.
HEAR HEAR
I am going to bloviate because I can and he can not stop me (which I think he would like to do):
I would watch the Malkin Factor. I think she does her homework. Something O'Reilly failed to do when it came to the I hate ----- comment. If he understood our site, he would see that was a article posted and folks were talking about it. AND if he would have looked at FR closely, he would see that a lot of us have a belief in God. So, a lot of us will hate, but we hate sin. We still love the sinner though. I don't have to like the actions of BOR, Hillaryious, or Scary Reid. And I have the right to confront them. But I surely would not wish for stray items to hit them.
I will say this, if one is a traitor, one should be hit will a well aimed item. I have said that in the past and I will say it again. I also find a lot of folks who fall into that category. Like Scary Reid. I call him Scary because he is a National Security threat to me. He thinks the best military in the history of the world lost the war after losing 3,500 people in four years. We lost 290,000 in four years of WWII and we won that one. To me, he is a threat because he would pull my Troops out of Iraq. I believe that the terrorist would take over and set up a Taliban type like Government (like they did in Afghanistan). They would have a State with a Natural Resource to fund their next attack on the US and Israel. We need resolve and Scary Reid has none.
I have resolve. That is what this is going to be about. A war of will. Here is something that the enemy knows. Ho Chi Minh hung in there and lasted one more day, one more week, one more month longer then the US people were willing to last. According to David Horowitz, the CPA funded by Communist from all over the world, set up and took over the peace movement during Vietnam. They broke the peoples will. Our Troops didn't lose that war. We the people did. We lost our Resolve.
I will not lose my resovle in this one. We will stay until our Generals say it is time to go. When Iraq can maintain the peace for themselves and govern themselves, then we will leave. When will that be? Hang in there one more day, one more week, one more month. This is not Vietnam. This enemy will follow you home. We live in an age where the terrorist could bring a city down in a second. We must keep our resolve. We are killing al qaeda in Iraq. The people who are joining and fighting for al qeada are the same kind of people who would fly a plane into our buildings.
If these people would not fly into buildings, or set IEDs off, we would have peace. So, we are not judging these people, we are sending them to a place to be judged because they will not live in peace with us. We are also loving our enemy. We are lifting the people up. We are helping them stand on their own feet and I am proud of our Troops for that.
All this is something you fail to hear on the O'Reilly Factor. I have heard Bill say a lot of bad about the war. We had time to debate the war before we went. We will have time to debate it when it is over. For the mean time, get with the program and show your Troops some resolve. Our Troops fight to win. If you support our Troops, you support victory.
How is that for bloviation?
I believe the phrase was "...needs a full time monitor. It has none."And actually, between that and the email he read, I think it was his way of trying to ease up on FreeRepublic.com.
I completely disagree.
His attitude saying what he did about needing a full time monitor (he has not got a CLUE how this site works...or how well it works) was completely condescending, just as his attitude about the two emails he read from FR people.
He essentially blew them off. He denied we had trolls posting things here, at the same time saying it happens at his site.
I hope he gets his body language person mad at him. If she did a "reading" of his body language...especially his face...kinda smug lol...it would be hilarious
That one is a re-run.
: >)
I am afraid that Clarity was banned years ago, sometime before Bush was elected I believe!
That is a nice compliment and thanks. He would cut me off and make me lose my train of thought and I probably wouldn’t do good.
Sounds about right.
Bill always steps on his guests explanation before they have an opportunity to complete their thoughts....
BOR needs a full time orderly.
So, we are not judging these people, we are sending them to a place to be judged because they will not live in peace with us.
Very moving. Really. An excellent analysis of what has to be done, there is no other alternative. The will not live in peace with anyone, even their own kind.
