First, prayers for all those who were killed in this horrible tragedy. Prayers for their families and friends as they deal with this nightmare. Prayers also for those who were injured, that their recoveries may be swift and complete. Prayers for the witnesses and survivors as I imagine this will take a long time for them to overcome. And last but not least, prayers for the first responders, and witnesses who came to the aid of all those in need at the scene and the medical personnel who are treating the injured — God please bless everyone affected by this with strength, courage, wisdom and comfort.

Thank you idkfa for posting the flickr album. As i look at those pictures I am simply amazed by some of them... There is one picture in there that shows the underside of a section that has bent all the way across, simply amazing the forces that must have been present to bend steel such as that.

It's just shocking to see how this bridge collapsed...and the fate of so many were sealed by where they were on that bridge in those few seconds. The school bus and the truck pictures make me sick - I would imagine the truck driver didn't make it out...not sure....the cab is gone it seems/burning. It would seem the concrete that broke damaged the tires on the bus and it's on the side rail....

Those poor children on that bus, can't imagine the terror

The whole thing is a nightmare....

I am a first responder - I can't imagine the stomach turning horror they all faced as they heard the call and rode up on the scene of devastation.

I watch the divers in awe too - they have a horrible job - recovering bodies - seeing first hand those who's cars went into the water and they couldn't get out.

As for people helping people before even emergency services get there - I wouldn't expect any less - basic human kindness & courage is essential in times of crisis.
