Just turned on the news. 35W bridge collapsed in the Mississippi River. Cars, trucks, semis.....
Fires burning, tanker trucks, at least one school bus, more than ten cars......
Just now breaking.......
He also said the bridge started shaking before it went.
My wife, who absolutely loves Shep, came running into my office screaming "Shep is wrong"!! My reply: "told ya so!"
Man this is horrible.
Surprised no one is even suggesting the possibility.

“35W Bridge Collapses”
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “That motorist told Joe Fryer that there was shaking from jack hammer and then the bridge just dropped.
He said a school bus was on the bridge, but it appeared all the kids on the bus were carried off. They were injured but he thought most of the kids on the bus got off.
Medical personal from around the city is arriving on the scene, but there so many people injured.”

I hate to disagree but Shep has had it since the very beginning with reporters at the scene. It has been great coverage....I have watched since it began. All the stations may have it now but didn’t when it started because I checked.
Channel 5 says that they’re are 20-40 cars in the water.
Don’t know where they got their info from though.
Anyone got a map of what bridge we’re talking about?
Bridge corrosion coupled with a lot of weight perhaps?
See post 167.
Gasoline in vehicles.
“stupid govt inspectors, maybe?”
Hey were here from the government and we are to help. Run!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll bet the people in the Charleston, SC area are thankful for their brand new Cooper River bridge just now. The old one might have been perfectly sound, but it seemed to be getting creakier by the year.
OMG
' Oh, give him a break -- he's just relaying information as it comes in, confused and incomplete. If he gets two conflicting reports about "a school bus," how can he even know whether there was more than one school bus on the bridge?
There was one in No Cal that collapsed this morning—might have been construction related—crushed a Fedex truck—but it does seem a little suspicious....
Bridge about 64 feet above the water. About 30-40 cars in the water.
